"I'd like to say I am very proud of you all for closing the deal with the Phillips Enterprise. I'd also like to give a special thanks to our newest, youngest team member, Kyla Parker." Mr. Williams walked around the table as he talked

We had been trying to close this deal for months and I was proud to be the one to close it.

"Before I dismiss you all, I'd like to let you know you'll be getting a raise. I won't say how much because percentages vary. Just know everyone should be very pleased with their pay this week." He smiled "That concludes this meeting. Kyla could I have a word with you?"

"Yes, Mr. Williams?" I asked, closing my folder

"I'd like to invite you to my house tonight, I have a new chef and I'd love for you to have dinner with me tonight."

"Sir, I'm going to have to decline that offer."

"I thought you had a new sitter for the twins already. What's the problem?" he asked

"I'm engaged." I said proudly, showing off my ring

"Ah, I never noticed."

"Yeah, sorry."

"No, I'm sorry, that was rude of me. Enjoy your lunch." He smiled

I smiled politely before leaving out of his office.

When I went back to my office I FaceTimed Mekai. He answered almost immediately.

"Hey babydaddy, you busy?" I joked

"Oh you funny." He squinted sarcastically "Nah, I ain't busy."

"My boss just invited me to dinner."

"And you said?"

"Hell no." I said "Well not exactly like that, but I declined it of course. I meant hell no in my heart."

"His ass think he slick. I know he seen yo' ring."

"I don't even know why I said nothin'." I shook my head, chuckling

"I don't neither." He chuckled "Cus you know shit like that irritate me."

"It shouldn't. You trust me right?"

"Yeah, it's his ass I don't trust. You know how I am 'bout you."

"Yeah, I know, and you know if he try anything I'm singing like a canary."

"Goofy ass." He lightly laughed "You on break?"

"Yeah. I don't know what I wanna' eat."

"I know what I wanna' eat."

"What time you gotta be in yo' next class?" I smirked, getting up to lock my office door

"In a hour." He grinned, knowing what was about to happen

"Good." I set my phone against the box on my desk, giving Mekai a great angle as I slid my pants off

Omniscient

"Professor Edwards, I need to speak with you." Bridgett walked in his classroom office and closed the door

She sat her child's carrier on the desk, removing the blanket.

"You can't bring that baby in here"

"This baby is your son, and need to make sure Mekai doesn't find that out. He's been trying to get another DNA test all of a sudden."

"He doesn't know I was involved with the last one does he?" He asked with fear in his eyes

"No, why?"

He remembered how Mekai threatened to kill him if he even thought about making a pass at Kyla again. It was very detailed, and gruesome enough to put him in a long lasting fear.

"No reason. Just do the same thing as last time. Take my results and put his name on them." He shrugged

Even doing this was a risk, but he wouldn't be as involved.

"Don't you think if it was that damn easy I'd do it?" she squinted "He actually wants to see everything happen in front of him. He's picking a whole new doctor and I don't even know this one. What we gonna do?"

"No, what are you gonna do? I'm not involving myself with them anymore." He shook his head

"This is your kid too, Mekai will be mad as hell when he finds out."

"Not mad enough to come after me. You not Kyla, baby girl." He laughed "He's going to be mad at you for lying and wasting his time in the first place. Goodbye."

"You gone' regret this."

"Not more than you are." He said, remembering how Kyla also held his career in this palm of her hands
