"We did it baby!" Mekai picked Kyla up and kissed her deeply
She held on to her graduation hat, kissing him back with the same energy.
They had finally graduated and couldn't be happier
"We did it biiitch!" Laura hugged her best friend
"Congratulations y'all" Kyla said to her and Dominic
"Wassup high school graduates!" Ms. J said
"Let me get a picture" Sylvia pulled out her camera
All the joy and excitement was so overwhelming. Seeing everyone so happy was truly a beautiful thing.

"I'd like to propose a toast" Kyla stood up with her water
Everyone got quiet, waiting for what she had to say.
"School was hard-"
"As hell" Mekai added
"Be quiet" his mom nudged him
"But we did it y'all, we survived those 4 agonizing years. We have 4 more agonizing years on the way, but as long as we got each other it'll be a breeze...kinda" she smiled
"I got something to say too" Mekai stood up, grinning
He got down on his knee and everyone gasped "Kai, what you doing?" Kyla and his mom asked
"Tying my shoe, dang" he laughed
"Boy" Kyla popped him in his forehead
"Nah, seriously. I love all y'all and thank you" he kept it simple and sat back down
"I love you too son" he heard his dad's voice
"What?" Him and Joyce turned around
"Clinton" she ran over to him, crying tears of joy
"You're still as beautiful as I remember" he kissed his wife
"Yooo, you supposed to be out?" Mekai raised an eyebrow, giving him a hug
"Thanks to Kyla, I'm home for good" he smiled
"Surprise" she chuckled with a shrug
"That's really sweet Ky" everyone said
"I love you so fuckin' much" Mekai whispered in her ear as he hugged her tightly
She smiled, hugging him back with the same energy "I love you more"
"Thank you Kyla" Joyce said to her as she wiped her tears "For bringing my husband home"
"You're welcome Ms. J" she said
"Call me mama" she lightly laughed and hugged her
"Damn you amazing" Mekai pulled her to the side
"I wouldn't say all that" she flipped her hair "I'm pretty decent though"
"I might've been joking when I was back there, but I'ma marry you one day for real" he wrapped his arms around her waist
"Tuh, you better nigga. I ain't having it no other way. Might as well start calling me Mrs. Andrews already" she was confident in what she said
