My dad the rockstar

Chapter 7

{Chris's POV} 

I was sitting on the couch watching TV when I heard footsteps coming down the stairs, I saw Ronnie come into the living room she climbed onto my lap and hugged me I hugged her back. 

"Sweetheart what are you doing up this early?" 

"I couldn't go back to sleep after I went to the bathroom and I didn't want to wake mommy up to crawl in bed with her." 

"You can snuggle with me and go back to sleep." I said. 

I stretched out on the couch with Ronnie she laid her head on my chest I grabbed my Tampa Bay Lightning blanket off the back of the couch and covered us up I kissed her head and softly sang to her I checked on Ronnie she was sound asleep. I heard Gaia coming down the stairs she came into the living room and walked over to the couch she leaned down and kissed me. 

"Is Ronnie, okay?" Gaia asked. 

"Ronnie said she couldn't fall back to sleep after she went to the bathroom and she didn't want to wake you up to climb in bed with you so she came downstairs and I let Ronnie snuggle with me and she fell back to sleep a few minutes before you came down." I replied. 

"She's going to hate me?" 

"Why is Ronnie going to hate you?" 

"I'm going to miss out on Halloween tomorrow because I have a photo shoot to do in California." Gaia said. 

"Baby she's not going to hate you Ronnie might be disappointed but she'll get used to you being away for photo shoots. When will you be home?" I asked. 

"The next day." 

"We can both tell Ronnie or you can tell her." 

I could tell that Gaia was worried that Ronnie will hate her since she won't be home for Halloween, I was worried that Ronnie would be upset about it I looked over at Gaia she was sitting in the recliner watching TV. When Ronnie woke up, she looked at me and smiled I smiled back and kissed her forehead I sat up on the couch and sat Ronnie on my lap Gaia joined me on the couch I held her hand. 

"Ronnie your mom and I have something to tell you." I said. 

"Am I in trouble?" Ronnie asked. 

"No sweetie you're not in trouble." 

"Your mom won't be able to spend Halloween with us tomorrow she has a photo shoot in California so it will be just you and me for Halloween I'll take you trick-or-treating and your mom will be home the next day." 

Gaia and I saw tears forming in Ronnie's brown eyes she laid her head on my chest and cried I gently rubbed her back and kissed her head Ronnie climbed off my lap and left the living room I got up off the couch and walked into the kitchen. I turned on the coffee pot Gaia came into the kitchen she walked over to me I wrapped my arms around her she laid her head on my chest I kissed her head. 

"Our daughter hates me." Gaia cried. 

"Ronnie doesn't hate you I promise I'm going to go up and talk to her." I said. 

Gaia pulled back in my arms I kissed her and wiped her tears I left the kitchen and walked upstairs I walked into Ronnie's room she was laying on her bed with her face buried in her pillow crying. I sat down on the bed and gently rubbed her back Ronnie sat up on the bed and crawled onto my lap I wiped her tears and comforted her. 

"I don't want mommy to go." 

"I know you don't sweetheart but your mom won't be away forever she'll be home the day after Halloween."
