Chapter 22

{Chris's POV} 

The next morning when I woke up, I leaned over and kissed Gaia's cheek I climbed out of bed and got dressed I walked into the bathroom. When I came out of the bathroom, I grabbed my phone and wallet and left mine and Gaia's room, I walked down the hall to Ronnie's room and woke her up for school. 

"Would you like help getting dressed?" 

"Yes please," 

I helped Ronnie get dressed I brushed her hair and pulled her hair up in a pony tail Ronnie put on her black Converse and I tied them for her. She walked into the bathroom while I made her bed after I made Ronnie's bed, I left her room and walked downstairs I walked into the kitchen. Ronnie came into the kitchen and sat down at the table. 

"What would you like for breakfast?" I asked. 

"A bowl of cereal please." Ronnie said. 

I made Ronnie a bowl of cereal and sat her bowl in front of her while Ronnie was eating breakfast, I left the kitchen and grabbed her book bag off the hall table. After breakfast Ronnie and I left the house we walked down to the SUV, I unlocked the doors and opened the backseat door I helped Ronnie into the backseat and buckled her in her car seat I sat her book bag on the seat. I closed the backseat door and climbed behind the wheel I put the key into the ignition and started the engine I turned on the heat and drove away. 

"Daddy can I spend the week-end with aunt Jen?" 

"I'll call your aunt later and ask her if my sister says yes, I'll drop you off at her house after I pick you up from school." 

When we arrived at the school, I parked the SUV and killed the engine I climbed out of the SUV and opened the backseat door I unbuckled Ronnie from her car seat and helped her out of the SUV, I grabbed Ronnie's book bag and closed the backseat door. We waited for the doors to open with the rest of the kids and their parents. 

"Would you like me to walk you to class?" I asked. 

"Yes," Ronnie smiled. 

When the principal opened the doors to let the kids into school, I walked inside the school with Ronnie and walked her to class. I knelt down to Ronnie's level I hugged her and kissed her cheek she hugged me and kissed my cheek. 

"Have a good day sweetie, I love you." 

"I will daddy and I love you, too." 

I climbed to my feet and watched Ronnie walk inside the classroom. 

"Mr. Cerulli, I'm Ronnie's teacher Mrs. Davis. I was wondering if I could talk to you for a minute about Veronica?" She asked, closing the classroom door. 

"Is everything okay with Ronnie?" I asked concerned. 

"It's nothing bad I can assure you I'm just a little worried about her shyness." 

"I'm afraid she gets that from me and Ronnie is shy around people that she doesn't know the more she is around people and gets to know them she will open up more." 

Ronnie's teacher walked back into the classroom I left the school and climbed into the SUV, I put the key in the ignition and started the engine and drove away. When I arrived home, I parked in front of the house and killed the engine I climbed out of the SUV, I walked up to the house and walked up the porch steps I opened the storm door and unlocked the inside door I walked inside the house. I closed the inside door and locked it I heard the TV on I walked into the living room Gaia was sitting on the couch I sat down on the couch with her.

"Where's Ronnie?" Gaia asked. 

"I just dropped her off at school and talked to her teacher." I said.
