Chapter 10

{Chris's POV} 

I was sitting in my office playing guitar with Ricky when I saw my office door open Gaia came into the room holding a fussy Ronnie, I stopped playing my guitar and sat it down. 

"Baby what's wrong with Veronica?" I asked concerned. 

"That's the thing I don't know what's wrong Ronnie won't tell me." Gaia said frustrated. 

I got up from my computer chair and walked over to Gaia, Ronnie held her arms out for me I took Ronnie in my arms she laid her head on my shoulder I sat down on my black leather couch. 

"If Ronnie tells me what's wrong, I'll let you know." 

"Hopefully she'll tell you or Ricky what's wrong I just never seen her this upset before and I don't know what to do or how to help." 

Gaia left the room and closed the door behind her I comforted Ronnie, I gently rubbed her back and felt her forehead she felt a little hot I sat Ronnie on my lap and felt her stomach it felt a little hot as well. 

"Ronnie, you don't feel good, do you?" I asked. 

"No daddy," Ronnie cried. 

"Why didn't you tell your mother that you didn't feel good when she asked you what was wrong." 

Ronnie looked at me and shrugged her shoulders Ricky looked at me and laughed I picked Ronnie up and held her she laid her head on my shoulder. 

"What are you laughing about?" I asked. 

"Chris there's no denying that Ronnie's your daughter because she's stubborn like you." Ricky chuckled. 

I got up off the leather couch and left my office I walked into the living room Gaia was sitting on the couch reading a book about Queen Victoria.

"Baby where's the Children's Tylenol?" 

"Upstairs in the medicine cabinet why?" 

"Ronnie has a slight fever I felt her forehead and stomach she feels a little hot." I said. 

"Before we give her any medicine let's take her temperature to see if she really has a fever." Gaia replied. 

Gaia left the living room I sat down on the couch I sat Ronnie on my lap Gaia came back into the living room with the thermometer she sat back down on the couch. 

"Ronnie put this under your tongue sweetheart," 

Ronnie put the thermometer in her mouth she laid her head on my chest I kissed her head when the thermometer beeped, she took the thermometer out of her mouth and handed it to Gaia. 

"Well, my dear you have a slight fever sit here and I'll go get you something for your fever." Gaia said. 

Gaia came back into the living room with the Children's Tylenol she handed the cup to Ronnie she drank the medicine and gave the empty cup back to Gaia she left the living room. 

"Daddy can I go see uncle Ricky?" 

"Yeah, you can go see Ricky." 

I got up off the couch I placed Ronnie on my hip I left the living room and walked back to my office I sat back down on the leather couch with Ricky. 

"Hi. sweetie." Ricky said. 

"Hi. uncle Ricky." Ronnie replied. 

I sat Ronnie on my lap she laid her head on my chest I kissed her head Ronnie was tracing my tattoos with her finger. 

"Since Ronnie isn't feeling well, I'm going to head on home so she can rest." 

"That's fine I'll text you tomorrow to let you know how Ronnie is feeling." 

"Bye Ronnie, I hope you feel better." Ricky said. 

"Bye uncle Ricky and thank you." Ronnie replied. 

Ricky and I left my office he kissed Ronnie's cheek and left the house she laid her head on my shoulder I walked into the living room I sat down in the recliner and gently rocked her. 

"Daddy I'm sleepy," 

"Go take a little nap." 

Ronnie laid her head on my chest I gently rocked her and gently rubbed her back I checked on Ronnie she was sleeping I kissed her forehead Gaia came into the living room she grabbed the throw blanket off the back of couch she walked over to the recliner and covered Ronnie and I up. 

"Since Ronnie's not feeling well, I'm in the middle of making homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner." Gaia said. 

"Sounds to me." I replied. 

"Should Ronnie sleep with us tonight?" 

"I think she'll be fine in her own room tonight if Ronnie needs us in the middle of the night, she can always come get us." 

"I still can't get over how much Ronnie looks like you." Gaia gushed. 

"She looks nothing like her mother Ricky noticed that Ronnie is stubborn like me." I said. 

Gaia kissed me and left the living room I checked on Ronnie she was still fast asleep I was watching We Bare Bears on Cartoon Network; Ronnie was starting to wake up she up on my lap. 

"Daddy, I want to go to mommy." 

"I'll take you to your mom," 

I removed the blanket I got up out of the recliner and left the living room I walked into the kitchen holding Ronnie, Gaia was setting the table. 

"Baby, Ronnie wants you." I said. 

I walked over to Gaia and handed Ronnie to her I finished making dinner for her when dinner was ready, I dished up dinner and sat the bowls on the table. 

"Babe while you were in your office with Ricky and Ronnie, I went to Target and got Ronnie a highchair so she doesn't have to kneel at the table." 

"I've been meaning to get her a highchair." 

Gaia put Ronnie in her highchair I sat her bowl in front of her Gaia and I sat down at the table and ate dinner after dinner I helped Ronnie out of her highchair and helped Gaia with the dishes when dishes were done and put away, we left the kitchen and walked into the living room. Gaia and I joined Ronnie on the couch and watched Cartoon Network she crawled onto my lap and laid her head on my chest I kissed her forehead. Later on, that night Gaia and I were getting Ronnie ready for bed she climbed into bed I covered her up and Gaia read her a bedtime story she fell asleep while Gaia was reading to her, she stopped reading and put the book back we kissed Ronnie's forehead and turned off the lamp. Gaia and I quietly left Ronnie's room we walked up the hall to our room and got ready for bed we climbed into bed I reached over and turned off the lamp Gaia snuggled up beside me I wrapped my arm around her she laid her head on my chest. 

"Babe, I can't forgive your ex-girlfriend for the way she treated Ronnie." Gaia said. 

"I feel the same way she didn't deserve to be treated like that by Rosalie, I'm glad that I agreed to take Ronnie in when I did because I didn't think it would be fair to her to put her in foster care when she has been asking her mother about who her father is." I explained. 

"You're a great father towards Ronnie your also protective of her as well she's lucky to have a father like you." 

"You're a great mother towards her as well you treat Ronnie as if she were your own, we give her the love and attention that her own mother never gave her." 

Gaia kissed me and rolled over I snuggled up behind her I draped my arm across her and fell asleep.
