Chapter 51

{Shelly's POV} 

The next morning, I felt Chris climbed out of bed I woke up and stretched he leaned over and kissed me. 

"Baby go back to sleep and I'll get Ronnie ready for school." 

"I was hoping to have breakfast with you and Ronnie." 

I climbed out of bed and left the bedroom I walked down the hall I opened Ronnie's bedroom door and walked into the room. Ronnie was sound asleep snuggling with her Jack and Sally dolls I walked over to her bed. 

"Ronnie it's time to wake up." I said, nudging her.

I left Ronnie's room and walked downstairs I entered the kitchen I walked over to the counter and turned on the coffee pot. Chris and Ronnie came into the kitchen Ronnie walked over to me I picked her up and placed her on the counter. 

"What would you like for breakfast?" 

"A bowl of cereal please and daddy wants to ask you something." 

I turned around and turned my attention to Chris, he got down on one knee and opened a ring box I stood there speechless and felt tears forming in my eyes. 

"Shelly Croft, I love you with all of my heart and I want to spend the rest of my life with you will you marry me?" Chris asked. 

"Yes, I'll marry you!" I exclaimed in a wobbly voice. 

He placed the engagement ring on my finger and climbed to his feet I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. Chris snaked his arms around my waist we heard Ronnie sniffling I broke out of his embrace and glanced at Ronnie, she was wiping her eyes with the back of her hand. 

"I'm happy for you, daddy." 

I picked Ronnie up off the counter and placed her on my hip Chris kissed Ronnie's forehead and made her breakfast, I carried Ronnie over to the table and placed her at the table. I made myself a bowl of cereal and joined Ronnie at the table Chris placed Ronnie's bowl in front of her. He joined us at the table. After breakfast I took Ronnie upstairs to her room and helped her get ready for school, I brushed her hair and pulled it up in a pony tail she headed for the bathroom. When Ronnie came out of the bathroom she put on her black Converse, I tied her shoelaces for her. 

"Thank you, mommy." Ronnie said. 

"You're welcome sweetie." I smiled. 

I left Ronnie's room I walked up the hall and entered mine and Chris's room he was making the bed I got dressed I brushed my hair and pulled my hair up in a pony tail I entered the bathroom. When I came out of the bathroom Chris was getting dressed, I sat down on the bed and put on my black Converse, I stood up from the bed and headed for the door. I felt Chris scoop me up in his arms I gazed into his sexy brown eyes and blushed he kissed me. 

"Would you like to go with me when I take Ronnie to school because I know you're dying to show Hilary the ring." 

"Babe, I'm excited to be engaged but I don't want to go around showing off the ring you know me I'm not one of those girls that likes to be the center of attention. I'll go with you when you take Ronnie to school and we can tell Kuza and Hilary that we are engaged." 

Chris gently put me down I left the bedroom and walked downstairs Ronnie was trying to reach for her book bag I walked over to her and helped her. 

"Thank you, mommy." She replied. 

"You're welcome." I said. 

I grabbed Ronnie's jacket and handed it to her, I grabbed my jacket and put it on Chris came walking down the stairs I grabbed his jacket and handed it to him we left the house and walked down to Chris's SUV. He unlocked the doors I opened the door to the backseat I helped Ronnie into the backseat and buckled her into her car seat I handed Ronnie, her book bag. I closed the door and climbed into the passenger seat I put on my seat belt Chris drove away. When we arrived at Ronnie's school Chris parked in front of the school and killed the engine, I unbuckled my seat belt.
