Chapter 48

{Shelly's POV} 

The next morning, I was sitting in my car with Ronnie waiting for the doors to open we were listening to Chris's band. 

"Mommy can I climb up front?" 

"Sure,"

I turned around in my seat and helped unbuckle Ronnie, I turned back around in my seat Ronnie climbed up front and sat in the passenger seat. 

"Are you excited about Maya spending the week-end with us?" I asked. 

"Yeah!!" Ronnie exclaimed. 

"I promise I will talk to your dad about our future together because I know how much this means to you." 

I turned off the CD and turned off the car I climbed out of the car and walked around to the passenger side I opened the door Ronnie climbed out of the car with her book bag. We spotted Hilary and Maya walking across the street Ronnie ran to Maya and hugged her. Hilary, Maya, and Ronnie walked over to me. 

"Aunt Shelly where's uncle Chris?" Maya asked. 

"He was still in bed sleeping when I left the house." I said. 

When the principal opened the door, the girls walked inside the school. 

"Shelly let me run back to my SUV and get Maya's overnight bag." 

I stood near my car while Hilary walked across the street to her SUV, she returned with Maya's overnight bag and extra car seat. 

"I was just about to ask you if you had an extra car seat." I replied. 

I unlocked the doors and opened the door to the backseat Hilary buckled in Maya's car seat I opened the door on the passenger side and place Maya's overnight bag on the seat. 

"Thanks for letting Maya stay the week-end with you and Chris." 

"You're more than welcome," 

I closed the passenger door I walked around to the driver's side and climbed inside the car I put the key into the ignition and started the engine. I turned on the heater and drove away when I arrived home, I parked my car in front of Chris's SUV. I turned off the heater and killed the engine I grabbed my purse and Maya's bag I climbed out of the car and walked up to the house I opened the storm door. I unlocked the front door and opened the door I walked inside the house I closed the door and locked it I sat Maya's bag by the stairs. I sat my purse on the hallway table I took off my jacket and hung it up I grabbed Maya's bag and walked upstairs I entered Ronnie's room and sat Maya's bag on the bed. I left the room and walked up the hall I peeked into mine and Chris's room he was still sound asleep. I entered the bedroom and walked over to the bed I kicked off my black Converse and removed my jeans I crawled back into bed I snuggled up beside him. 

"Where did you go?" Chris mumbled half asleep. 

"I just came back from taking Ronnie to school." I said. 

He stretched and rolled over facing me I leaned in and kissed Chris we laid in bed and gazed into each other's eyes. 

"Come downstairs and I'll make us a cup of coffee." 

"I'll be down," 

I climbed out of bed and picked my jeans up off the floor I put my jeans back on and put my black Converse back on. I left the bedroom and walked back downstairs I entered the kitchen I walked over to the counter and turned on the coffee pot. I grabbed our mugs out of the cupboard and fixed them up for coffee I leaned against the counter Chris came into the kitchen he walked towards me and snaked his arms around my waist.
