Accidents make perfection

Chapter 16

CAL POV

I wake up in a daze, I have no idea what happened last night, the last thing I remember is talking to the premier in the bar about problems in our relationships. When my head stops pounding I open my eyes and look around to find that in not in my room, I hear shuffling beside me so I turn to see what it is. Its then that I meet eyes with her "Cal?" She says "Ginervra?" I say back why is she here? Its then that I realize that we're both naked and in a bed. It looks like we both notice at the same time and our eyes go wide. "No" she says "NO!" I yell back we both jump out of bed and I rush to get my clothes on while she holds a sheet to cover herself "this never happened" she says "Agreed" I say. I get my jacket on and start to leave "I'm sorry" she says I look back at her "Me too" I say and leave. What have I done Mare will never forgive me for this, she already hates me for bringing up her brother in that stupid fight, I'm over it now but I don't know if I can face her after this. I walk to my barracks and lie down on my bed "what am I going to do" I groan to an empty room.

A week later I'm in a meeting and see the Nortan premier look at me, I look up to meet her eyes and she makes her way to me "hey" I say very monotone "you have a right to be angry at me" she says "I'm not mad at you I'm made at myself" I say back she just sighs "Commander, I can read emotions, you feel angry at me yourself and alcohol, you also feel guilt and longing for Mare." She says "Damn I forgot you could do that." I say and take a drink of water "it was a stupid mistake we made out of anger and self pity" she says "and I regret it a lot, but we can never ever talk about this ever again, because if Mare or Clair find out we will both be in shit." I look at her and look back down at my hands "that being said," she continues "we need to be able to be in a room together without showing the guilt we feel." She says "I agree."is all I can say.

4 weeks later I'm meeting Sara and Julian for lunch, they wanted to tell me something important. When I get to the restaurant I ask the hostess for a table and she takes me to a booth in the corner of the restaurant. I wait for Sara and Julian to show up. After about five minutes I see them walk in with full smiles on their faces, I stand up to greet them "why are you two so smiley?" I ask, Julian just looks at Sara "sit" he says, I do as he says and take a seat and they follow suit. They look at each other and Julian gives Sara a nod of permission she turns to me and smiles "we got married" she says, my mind goes blank "what?" I stupidly say "we got married" Julian repeats, my mind finally catches up to whats going on "oh congratulations" I say and get up to give them hugs "when did this happen" I ask "we where just eating dinner one night and decided then and there we would get married." Sara says. We sit back down "why didn't you have a service or anything." I ask "we don't need a huge service to show that we love each other, plus its a waste of money" Julian says and I see his point "have you talked to Mare yet" Sara asks, I was hoping that topic wouldn't come up "no" I say wanting to change the subject "oh" she says, what does she mean 'oh' "well she does send me letters about how's she's doing but I don't write back" I say, Julian nudges Sara and she straightens "so Cal what are you doing these days" Julian asks and i let out a breath.
After the dinner we say goodbye and I head to my hotel, I rarely stay In archeon but when I do they put me in amazing hotels. i still can't get the beginning of our conversation out of my head what did she mean by 'oh' , I decide to shake it off.

Sara's POV

"I can't believe she hasn't told him yet."  I yell to Julian when we get home "maybe she's just scared" he says "what if she doesn't know?" I say "I didn't think of that" Julian says, I immediately run and grab my phone "you're not calling her are you?" Julian says "why not she needs to know." I say and start to type her phone number until Julian grabs my phone out of my hands "because her finding out she's pregnant over the phone by someone who's known for weeks especially with Cal's baby, a guy that she hurt and won't talk to her anymore. Is not something that should be told over the phone" he says. That makes sense actually "so what do you propose we do?"I say "Call Farley and tell her" he says, thats actually not a bad Idea because she could just say that she knows what the beginning of a pregnancy looks like and tell her. "Ok" I say and call Farley "hello?" Farley says "Hi its Sara" "oh hello look I can't talk long I'm supposed to take Clara to a daycare and meet Mare and the others for lunch" she says "alright this won't take long, how is Mare doing" I ask "not too good she's been sick and throwing up the past week" she says, I do the math in my head 6 weeks symptoms are nausea, vomiting, tiredness, sensitive breasts, and enlarging breasts. I dont know why I do that, go through symptoms in my head, when I was learning about nursing it was a trick my teachers used to memorize sickness's. "I think I know why" I say "really? What is it." She asks "ok do you remember how you felt when you were first pregnant" I ask "yes why" she says not getting my hint "How you felt sick and tired after 6 weeks" I say trying to hint to the OBVIOUS "yes but what are you trying to get at?" When she says that I lose all patience "Oh my god Farley she's pregnant with Cal's child but she doesn't know it" I say "oh...OH HOLY SHIT YOU'RE RIGHT!" She yells "OF COURSE I'M RIGHT WHICH IS WHY YOU NEED TO TELL HER!" I yell but I didn't mean too "Alright I'll tell her at lunch today" she says "thank you but don't tell her I told you" I say "oh ok. If you don't mind me asking, how did you know in the first place?" She asks "I'm a healer, so I can sense whats wrong with a person when I touch them, so when we said goodbye 6 weeks ago I could sense it." I say "Alright well I gotta go thanks for telling me I'll be sure to tell her."she says, before she hangs up the phone I get one thing said "and could you be there for her, this will be really hard since Cal won't talk to her, plus she'll be scared, she won't think she's ready but she is." I say I hear her laugh a little "Alright thank you I'll talk to you later." She says and the call ends. I take a deep nervous breath, Julian come up behind me and and hugs me "She'll be fine, Mare is the strongest girl I know." He says "but this requires a completely different kind on strength." I say.
