"Thank you for not selling me out," you told Thomas. Both of you were sitting on the lookout tower. "Also, I'm sorry for uh using you to annoy Minho." You blushed at that.
"I mean . . . it's okay. I understand you wanted to get back at him and I was there," he looked at you as you stared at the walls.
You shook your head. "Yes, but it isn't fair to you. I threw you into the fire when it wasn't a fire you created. You weren't even a log being used for the fire! You were like some leaf that I purposely picked up to--"
"Whoa, y/n. I get it! You don't have to think too hard about it," he laughed. "I'm just glad that I was of some use."
"You are always useful, Thomas! Don't think less of yourself. I feel bad. He's your best friend," you muttered.
"I don't want to be friends with someone who is willing to hurt someone who doesn't deserve it. Like I mentioned already, he's stupid for what he did. He had someone as great as you and blew it!"
"Glad to see you're trying to get her to hate me."
The both of you jumped. You had not heard nor noticed Minho climbing up.
"You take no time, huh? How long were you waiting for this moment? I knew you always liked her! You backstabbing sh-"
"You are definitely not the person to be talking about backstabbing, Minho! Leave Thomas alone. He's done nothing to come in between the relationship we had. YOU did that!"
Minho's angry eyes softened once he looked at you.
"Baby," he approached you.
"Don't come near her," Thomas took a protective step in front of you.
Minho became furious again. He took another step toward Thomas.
"Don't be stupid! You try to act tough up here, you'll get us killed. Or worse, banished... for being stupid," you said as you stepped between them.
As Minho looked at you his eyes softened. "Y/n, I swear I can explain. Please. Let me explain."
"What is there to explain? We both saw what you were doing, Minho. I saw everything perfectly. There's no explaining you and Teresa eating each other." You kept your brave face as you looked at him.
"It's not like that, y/n. I swear. Teresa, she's blackmailing me. The last box, a message was sent for her, remember that?"
You nodded your head suspiciously. The box brought everything they always needed. This included, materials, food, medicine, but last time it also included a note. A note addressed to Teresa and no one else. Everyone wasn't suspicious because it happened before when the first girl arrived.
"So, what about it?" Thomas replied for you. Minho rolled his eyes, but continued.
"It asked her to write a name of someone in the Glade . . . someone they would "pick up". I'm not sure whether it meant hurting them or not, but that's what happened."
You waited for him to continue.
"She told me about it. When she told me, I was confused, but then she told me she would write your name down if I didn't . . . If I didn't do things with her. I love you, y/n. I was only doing it to protect you." He seemed to genuinely care, but that was such a shitty response. You couldn't help but laugh. You looked at Thomas and he started laugh as well.
"Minho, you hid deep in the woods and "did stuff with her". Knowing Teresa, she would've made your relationship or whatever it is public to taunt me. You were sneaking off with her. Do not try to make this into some crazy ass story just to get away with cheating."
"i told her that i needed time until i could do something publicly! she has some weird fetish with me, so she agreed. i never wanted to hurt you," he told you.
you laughed again. "you're the shuckiest shuck faced shuck! you think that i'm stupid? that i'm going to believe that? minho, don't even try anymore. we are done. i don't want anything to do with you."
you began to descend the steps to the lookout tower. thomas followed right behind you. you were no longer able to see minho, but you could hear him sigh in frustration.
blackmailing him? that was almost the dumbest thing you've ever heard. the first being that he loved you.

The Maze Runner Imagines
FanfictionI've always loved writing, but I've always been horrible at making an entire story. Short imagines are definitely a great way of sharing my writing, and so that's why I do them! I absolutely love The Maze Runner trilogy. I hope you enjoy my imagine...
