Midnight? Well, dark. Everyone was sleeping and you were the only person awake now. You were far away from the hammocks because you were afraid that a sudden movement would wake the Gladers up.
So many horrible thoughts ran through your mind. You've been stuck in the damned place for far too long. You though Thomas could've been a breakthrough, but he was just another Glader who happened to have all sorts of crazy ideas, just like you had once.
You sat down staring out into the maze. You could hear the clanking of the Grievers and their loud sounds.
You looked down at your wrists. There were many scars left there from nights alone like today. Except today felt different. You didn't just want it to be another night where you look back one day and regret feeling such sorrow.
"Death," you muttered to yourself. You picked up the nearest sharp stick and let it barely touch your delicate skin. You swayed it just above your skin like a wand before pressing down.
You whimpered, but maintained silence. You closed your eyes and let the tears come. You knew that hurting yourself wouldn't help anything, it never does, but inflicting pain upon yourself felt like something you deserved.
You stood up and walked towards the Lookout Tower while blood fell to the ground. Your wrists continued to sting.
You stood at the very top and looked around.
"This place was not home," you told yourself.
The Gladers popped into your mind. You shared so many memories with them, good and bad.
You shook your head, "this place is not home," you muttered again. You needed to remind yourself why you're going to do what you are.
You have felt depressed from the moment you realized there was no leaving. There was no finding your family and living happily ever after. There was no having a good future with Minho. There was no anything for you. You'd just be a name that gets crossed off the stone wall one day.
You stepped closer to the edge. It was a big enough fall.
"(Y/n)?" It was barely a whisper, but you heard him from down below.
"(Y/n), w-" you didn't realize that a droplet of blood fell in his face. He rubbed his face and checked his finger.
"Is this blood!? (Y/n), what are you doing!?" He was screaming now.
"Minho, please leave!" You cried.
"No! What are you doing?" He yelled back.
You shook your head and cried hysterically.
"I'm coming up!" He yelled.
You heard him climbing. You continued to sob, but you knew you had to jump now.
"I'm so sorry," you muttered. You went to the very edge and let go.
However, as you fell Minho ran and grabbed your arm. The sudden stop hurt your arm, but Minho wouldn't let go. You looked up and saw him struggling to help you up. His stomach was on the ground and both his arms were holding on to one of yours. There was no way that he could push up without something his legs could hold on to.
"(Y/n), please help me. Please give me your other arm," he said.
You shook your head and cried.
"I can't, Minho. I can't stay here. I can't," you continued.
"Please, (y/n). Please," he said with desperation. You looked at him once more before swinging a bit to reach for him with your other arm.
He pulled you up and into his arms. You cried as he held you. He rubbed your head and your back.
"Shhh. It's okay, shhh." He whispered.
He held your face with both his arms.
"Don't do that ever again, okay? I love you, (y/n). I'm here for you. We will all be here for you," he said. He hugged you tightly and you both sat there until morning came.

The Maze Runner Imagines
FanfictionI've always loved writing, but I've always been horrible at making an entire story. Short imagines are definitely a great way of sharing my writing, and so that's why I do them! I absolutely love The Maze Runner trilogy. I hope you enjoy my imagine...
