"You knew"

Did he care? You asked yourself. You hadn't seen him since the Bonfire which was three days ago. All you did was mope around, but since you were a Runner you had to get up early today.

You dragged yourself out of bed and got ready. You walked out your door to be greeted by Gally.

"Hey, darling." He said biting his lip.

"Hi, Gally." You muttered.

"C'mon." He said stretching up his arms. You happily walked into them.

Gally has been here for you these past few days. He's made sure you've eaten and at least been out for a few minutes. If it wasn't for him you'd probably just sit in bed and do nothing. You'd probably starve to death.

"It's alright.." He muttered into your hair.
"I love you, Gally. You know that right?" You felt him stiffen, but then relax.

"I love you too, y/n" before you could respond you heard Minho yell,

"Y/n! We're getting ready to leave."

You broke your embrace with Gally and looked up to him with a smile.

"Bye, I'll see you later." He said kissing your temple.

"Bye, Gally. I'll see you later." Gally always told you to tell him that you'll see him later. He always said that he never wanted to wake up and know you weren't here anymore, and that warmed your heart.

You began running towards Minho, but slowed down when you saw Newt standing behind him. Minho looked at you sympathetically,
"Sorry, he wouldn't stop bugging me. I'll leave you two alone."

"No, we need to work, let's go." You said without looking at Newt. You started jogging away from them and towards the maze but a hand pulled your shoulder, it wasn't harsh but it was strong enough to make you tumble. He grabbed you before you fell. You quickly jumped out of his arms.

"We need to talk, please." This time you turned to face Newt. He had dark rings under his eyes which meant he hadn't been sleeping.

"You look horrible." You blurted.

"Yeah, uh thanks." He chuckled lightly but stopped immediately when he saw your serious face.

"I messed up, y/n."

"Yeah, you did."

"Look, you have to forgive me, please."

"Newt, I can't. You can't expect me to forgive you after cheating on me. It's not okay, and I'm not going to make you think it is by forgiving you. I'm sorry. I love you, I really do, but I-I can't. I just can't." You began to turn around,

"But y/n-" you turned to face him again.

You shook your head, "No, it doesn't work that way. You decided to chose that. But you want to know why I'm really really mad?" He nodded.

"While you did what you did, you knew that it would hurt me. You knew that it would break my heart, but you did it anyways. All the time you knew that it would tear me to pieces, but you did it anyways. That's why I know I can't forgive you, and that's why I won't." With one last look at him, you turned around and ran towards the Maze.
