We thought we had found a safe place to hide from the bloody cranks. I was walking into what once was an office when I heard one. They had these weird clicking noises to them.. How'd they even find a way all the way up here? We were in an abandoned, tall, building.
I tried to move away quietly and go warn the others, but as I walked backwards I stepped on some crushed glass. It made a loud noise which caught the Crank's attention. It stared at me for a second before running. Then, right after it more came. I turned around and was faced by another which I was able to dodge in a split second. I broke into a sprint.
I ran two rooms down to where the Gladers were.
"IN! THEY'RE HERE!! THE CRANKS!" I yelled. Everyone stood up quickly with their things and ran. We all ran in the same direction, I was leading.
I was a runner in the glade, so it helped so much to prepare for running again on the daily. I didn't notice where I was going, and I didn't notice everyone had stopped behind me.
I kept running and Thomas was yelling.
"No! ALEENA STOP!!" But before I could stop myself, a crank jumped in front of me and I had to jump to the right, right into a broken ledge. I grabbed onto a nearby, broken, handle. I looked down and saw the crank falling.
I closed my eyes. I couldn't hang on any longer. My hand was slipping. Right as I let go and began to fall a little someone else held on to me.
When I looked up it was Thomas. His face was turning red, but he kept holding on to me. I felt tears cascade down my cheeks.
"Don't look down, okay? Just look at me and try pulling up." I tried to listen, but I looked down again. I was very high up, and any second I could fall to my certain death.
                              "C'mon Aleena!"
I could hear the cranks getting closer. I tried to pull myself up. I was swinging a little and was able to grab his other arm. He almost fell, but right behind him, Minho held him down.
All together they pulled me up. I fell on Thomas and hugged him tightly. Then, without thinking I kissed him. He kissed back instantly.
"I don't know what I would've done if you fell." Thomas muttered, "I love you, Aleena. I always have. Please never leave me. Promise me you won't--"
"Guys...I get this is a cute moment, but we really have to..." The cranks appeared at the door,
"RUN!" Minho yelled.
Everyone ran again, and this time I made sure to watch where I was going and to be careful.

The Maze Runner Imagines
FanfictionI've always loved writing, but I've always been horrible at making an entire story. Short imagines are definitely a great way of sharing my writing, and so that's why I do them! I absolutely love The Maze Runner trilogy. I hope you enjoy my imagine...
