Newt

Slowly, your relationship with Newt vanished. One day you guys were perfectly fine, the next he was checking out without even telling you why. He just stopped talking to you, he wouldn't even look at you. You tried talking to him but he would brush you off.
Today, you weren't going to let that happen.

You watched as he walked around the garden. You waited for the right moment. When he was alone, you walked towards him.

"Newt." You called out. He stopped momentarily before rushing towards the deadheads.

"Newt! you can't just ignore me!" You walked around, searching for him.
"Newt-"
"What do you want?" He snapped. You stepped back.
"What's going on!? Why do you keep ignoring me? As if I'm nothing to you! Do you want to know how much that hurts?"
"This would be much easier if you'd stop chasing me like an animal!" He yelled. You pressed your lips together.
"That's what you think of me? An animal?" You shook your head slightly, looking at him. He looked hurt, but quickly replaced it with a stern look.

"You can't do that Newt. You can't come into somebody's life, make them care, then leave. You can't make someone care and leave them without explaining why." You wiped a tear off your face, and just stared at him.

"You never cared did you? That's why it was so easy to leave. That's why you just stopped talking to me. I lo-" you sighed. "I love you Newt." You whispered. He stayed silent, "but I get it. You don't want me around. Dammit I was stupid for thinking you'd talk to me." You turned to walk away, expecting him to let you leave. His hand wrapped around your wrist and twirled you around, pressing you to his chest.

"God, I love you (y/n). I just-take a look around. We're in a dump, we have to get out of here. Every time I looked at you, every time our lips touched, I completely forgot about our task, leaving. When I was around you, I felt vulnerable. What if I lost you one day? What would I do! I would lose it, I couldn't do that. I was selfish (y/n), I didn't want to end up hurt I-"
"But what about me?!" You cried, pushing him away.

"How do you think I felt when you left me? I felt like complete utter c-" he cut you off again.
"I'm sorry..I'm so sorry (y/n). Everyday that I spent ignoring you, my heart shattered a bit more. I can't do it. Not anymore, please forgive me. I thought I was helping both of us, clearly I wasn't. Please (y/n). Give me another chance." You looked up at him, you couldn't say no. All you've ever wanted was for him to talk to you, to tell you how he felt. And he finally did. You hugged him tightly,
"Ohh, I love you (y/n). I love you, i love you." He said into your ear.

"I love you too Newt." You whispered.
