"Sandra if you don't hurry you'll be late," my mom yells up at me from the kitchen. I can't seem to find the perfect outfit for today. It's the first day of my senior year and I'm just trying to look presentable.

"I'm aware mom I just want today to be perfect," I yell back down to her. I flopped on my bed, completely done with life. After laying for a few seconds to pull myself together I walked into my closet and began shuffling around. Finally I landed on something simple. Smiling I walked in front of my mirror and admired my chosen outfit. "Perfect," I thought. I had on some black ripped jeans, white converse, and a shirt that said "Reasons why I'm late". I slid down stairs quickly using the railing.

"Kid one day you're going to fall and it won't be pretty." I laughed at what my mom said and walked into the kitchen. Grabbing a piece of toast she had made for me, I gave her a quick kiss and grabbed my keys.

"Bye mom I'll see you after school." I walked out and got into my car. It seemed a little boring in the car without any music so I decided to turn on the radio. As I turned it on I glanced at the time. "DAMN," I thought. "It's already 7:56". I was completely screwed. School began at 8 am and I was still at least 15 minutes away. I pressed a bit harder on the gas glad that there were no cops around. Seven minutes later, I pulled into the parking lot. I still had to stop by the office and grab my schedule.

"Sandra, it's the first day of school, I can't believe you're late," said Mrs. Maklane from behind the front desk. I quickly apologized and scurried out the door. I stopped halfway down the hall to find my first class. Glancing down at my paper, I skimmed through all the names. "Ms.James seems new and she happens to be my first period." I ran down further to get to class. I am already at least 9 minutes late. I stop in front of the door and take a quick breath. Slowly, I reach for the handle and pull the door open. Standing there in front of me is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. "Wow" I thought. The woman turned to me with a straight face.

"I'm sorry i'm late Ms, I can explain." She smiles at me.

"I hope it's not because you hit big-foot with your car," she laughs. The class joins in on the joke as well. I'm confused.

"Huh," I say and think about it for a minute longer. "Oooh haha my shirt, that's one of the reasons it listed." She clears her throat, and I notice i'm still standing there staring at her.

"Just sit wherever it's open," she says motioning to the desks. I scan the room quickly and find my friend Mae sitting by an open seat. I take that spot and turn my attention back to the front. The woman turns to face us.

"I'll reintroduce myself for those of you who were late or didn't listen the first time," she speaks while looking at me. " My name is Ms. James you can call me that, Ms. J or simply James whatever feels best for you." After speaking she goes behind her desk and bends over looking at her computer. She seems to be scrolling.

"Your name is Sandra Hart, correct?," she asks looking up at me. I nod my head at her.

"Very well then, since everyone here has introduced themselves to me you're the last one. Tell the class and I three things about yourself." I look around at the class. Everyone's eyes seem to be glued on me. Standing up I clear my throat.

"Well as you know my name is Sandra Hart. Three things about me I'd say would be um, I like to play softball, I enjoy long walks on the beach, and I'm Canadian." The class laughs at my funny input, Ms.James as well. "Wow she must be laid back, I like her already" I take my seat and Ms. James begins with her lesson. The entire time I spent it taking advantage of the fact that too look like I was paying attention I had to look at the teacher. Most of the time I was admiring her looks and movements instead of paying any actual attention. I couldn't help it, she was so beautiful. Her hair was a golden blonde that fell just past her shoulders, her eyes were a dark blue type color. My eyes ran from the bottom of her legs to her face.

"Ok class I'm going to pass out a rather quick worksheet for the first day just to see where you're at so far, and to see how much you paid attention today." I turned over to the side and spoke to my friend Mae.

"Please tell me you were listening." She looked over to me and began laughing.

"I was doodling the entire time, Plus if anyone was paying attention it was you. Not once did your eyes leave from the front of the class." A small blush crept onto my face. A paper was put in front of me and I tried to do what I remembered from last year. I did the problems I could but I had a tougher time doing what we were just taught. "Here goes nothing" I thought as I raised my hand. It caught Ms. James' attention and she walked over to me.

"Well, if it isn't my fashionably late friend. How can I help you?" I laughed at her small joke and told her what I couldn't do.

"Did you pay attention to the lesson I just gave?," I nodded my head casually. She gave me an unsure look. "I know that if you had paid attention you would have the answers for 1 and 2 because we did them together." I felt my face heat up and I didn't know how to respond. I can't exactly tell her I didn't copy the work because I was too distracted checking her out. She was kneeling so close to me I could smell her sweet candy perfume. I felt myself slowly leaning closer to her but stopped.

"Were you really paying attention?," she asked. Shamefully I shook my head at her. "And why not?"

"I was a bit distracted with something," I confessed. Her eyebrows furrowed as she looked at me.

"With what?" My heart was racing in the moment and I don't know what to do. Time passed and she was expecting an answer. I opened my voice to speak only to be cut off.

"I was distracting her with my doodles Ms," Mae said. "Note to self, thank Mae for saving your ass after class." Ms. James turned to look at Mae and I let out a sigh of relief. When she turned back around to me she sighed.

"Ok, thanks for telling me Mae. Sandra, let's get you started on this worksheet." Time passed as we worked through our sheet. It felt as if only minutes had passed but before I knew it the bell rung to let us go. We packed our things and Ms. James sent us off. She said goodbye to everyone by the door as we exited. Mae and I walked over to the gym together because we had PE next. As we walked into the locker rooms she asked to look at my schedule.

"Thanks for saving me back there I didn't know what to tell her." She laughed.

"I know," she says. "At first I didn't understand what was going on but then it hit me, you just met the woman and she has you completely whipped." I gave her a small shove and I pulled my shirt off.

"No, she doesn't I don't get whipped by anyone." She looks over and looks me up and down. I pull my shirt back .

"Wow, I see your summer body sure came in. Those abs are to die for, like seriously how did you do that?" I laugh at her comments and look down at my stomach. After putting our things in a locker we made our way out to the football field.

"Ugh, Sandie look who's in our class this year," she whined while she pointed to the far right. I rolled my eyes. It was my Ex girlfriend Cyrus.
