***** LAUREN'S POV
Today was a seemingly interesting first day of classes. Sandra seemed like a great person, and she made me feel like I was still in high school. At first everything was awkward because come on, I saw her in her bra. Not that I'm complaining because she has a beautiful body. She's so helpful and she makes me smile a lot. I can't remember the last time I smiled so much in one day with one person. I'm sitting in my room right now planning a lesson for tomorrow's class when my doorbell rings. I actually wonder who that could be since I'm new and don't know anyone here. When I opened the door, I saw Sandra looking at the roses around my windows. I smiled to myself.
"Hey there stranger." I wanted to laugh because, she really looked shocked to see me.
"H-hey Ms, I'm sorry I didn't know you lived here. My mom told me we had a new neighbor down the street but I didn't expect it to be you." I smiled at her. She's too cute. "Did I really just think that?" It got really quiet for a little and I wasn't sure what to do but I could tell Sandra was nervous. It went on for a moment until she broke the silence. "Thank god, that was really awkward"
"Oh, here,"she said extending a gift basket towards me. " My mom made it for you and asked me to bring it over." "Aww it's adorable". I took the basket and looked back at my house wondering if it would be appropriate to invite her in.
"Thank you I love it," I said smiling. " Do you think it'd be weird if I asked you if you wanted to come inside." Thankfully she shook her head and laughed.
"If you asked me if I wanted to drink maybe but this," she motioned around us. "It's just borderline so it doesn't count, I would love to come inside." I laughed and moved aside allowing her to enter. She started looking around and she came in and I headed to the kitchen to set down the gift basket.
"You have a beautiful home Ms. James,"she said. I made a face at her.
"Please, call me Lauren. Ms. James makes me feel like my mother," I laughed. We walked into my living room and we sat down on the big leather couch.
"Ahhhh," she said relaxing. "I could pass out here and not get up for days." I smiled at her and shook my head.
"You are something else Sandra,"I said as I pushed my hair back. I looked at her.
"Hey," I said getting her attention. She replied with a hmm.
"Why were you really, late to class." She lets out a laugh and sits up on the couch.
"Well, you see I couldn't find the right outfit to wear to school and I laid in bed until something came to mind." She smiled.
"My turn," she said. I gave her a questioning look.
"Your turn?," I asked. She nodded her head at me with a small smirk creeping onto her face.
"This just turned into 21 questions," she said.
"Ok then, shoot." She sat there for a few minutes thinking to herself.
"What made you want to teach here in Lakeview?" That was a good question.
"Well I recently graduated from Penn State and I started applying for a teaching job where I could. After a few days of waiting I got a call from your high school offering me the job as you teacher. I love helping people and when I got the opportunity I took it." She smiled at me and I swear I could see a little star shine in her eyes. I began thinking of a question to ask her.
"You're young and free, are you seeing anyone?" I asked her. She shook her head right away. I felt happy at that response, I don't know why but I liked the fact that she was single.
"Are you?," she asked me. I shook my head. We sat there looking at each other in comfortable silence. It was broke by the sound of her phone going off. She opened it and her eyes widened.
"Woah I guess we both lost track of time, it's my mom asking where I am." We both stood and walked towards the front door. I didn't want her to leave but I couldn't tell her to stay. I opened the front door and she stepped out onto the porch.
"Bye M-..Lauren I'll see you tomorrow in class." I smiled and said goodbye to her as well. I watched as she walked down the steps and I shut the door. "That was something."
I won't usually make a lot of Lauren's point of view but I'll do it from time to time. When I do they might be relatively short, I hope you enjoyed this on her part. Please vote and comment, tell others about this story I would like for it to go far. Thank you.
