Mae Diaz !!!

"I ran a warm bath for you, if you go quick we have time to drink this together before school today,"She smiled and kissed me.

"Darn why school."

"Calm down you have like a week left before you're free." She was right I did have little time and I had already decided to take a year off. I've had many acceptances but I just haven't had time for any of it recently. I took my bath and drank coffee in her arms before we both decided to go. Kara came by to pick me up and Lauren took her own car. The day went by really quick since seniors only had grad practice. After school I spent the whole day with Lauren. I told her about missing my mother and she just helped me any way she could.

MAE'S POV********

"I haven't seen my best friend since school, what if I want to share things with her." Kara rolled her eyes at me. It was currently 2 am and there was something I needed to share with with Sandra.

"You can tell me Mae you know that right?" I looked at her and threw myself back onto the bed. Then I got up and grabbed my coat. "Mae where are you going," she called after me as I ran down the stairs. "You can tell her tomorro-" I shut the door and made my way down the block. Sandra was sleeping with Lauren tonight but I had to talk to her. When I got there I pulled out the bobby pin and file Kara taught me how to use and opened the door. I slowly went up the stairs and into their room. I crossed my arms and cleared my throat loudly.

"MAE DIAZ WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!"

"HOW THE HECK DID YOU GET IN HERE!"

"I just need to talk to Sandra, Lauren...do you mind." She made a face.

"This is my room no no, THIS is my HOUSE" I shook my head.

"Can you just please," I made a motion towards the door with my hands.

"Alright Fine Whatever," she reluctantly got out of bed and went down stairs. I jumped into bed next to Sandra.

"Ok Mae, you've kicked my girlfriend out of her own bed, what's up?" I turned to her.

"My mom told me I have to go back, and then they want to move to California." She threw the blankets off of her.

"WHAT!" I heard a thumping downstairs before Lauren burst into the room.

"What happened, What, are you guys ok?!" I nodded at her and told her the same thing.

"Mae you're 18 you can choose to stay here and live with me, forget what you're parents said."

"I know I know plus they're terrible parents but they're still my parents I can't just abandoned them." Lauren handed me a cup of coffee she had in her hand. "Thanks Laur." She smiled.

"You guys are gonna go to college anyways so either way you will be separated whether you like it or not," Lauren said.

"We both decided to take a year off together actually." Lauren rose her brows at me.

"Later babe," Sandra said and Lauren nodded. The front door opened and closed.

"MAE DIAZ DID YOU REALLY WAKE THEM UP," Lauren looked back.

"I swear I checked to see if it was locked, how did she get in." She shook her head. "Why does everyone know how to break into a house."

"Oh quit whining it's not breaking in, it's just unwarranted entry."

"I can't ever know with you guys," she sighed. "Good vocabulary though."

"Thanks," I beamed at the compliment. Kara walked into the room with us and looked at a very sleepy Lauren.

"We have school tomorrow, and Lauren gets up earlier than the rest of us. Remind me again why you broke into your teachers house and disturbed her possibly comfortable sleep?"

"I'm gonna go to sleep, I'll see you guys in the morning," she kissed Sandra and put a pillow over her head. I explained the situation to Kara who had the same response as Lauren. I was going to speak when Sandra's phone rang.

"It's 2 am now who the heck would call at 2 am?" She shrugged at me before answering. Her face fell, who the hell was it and what's going on.

"Thank you for calling officer Grayson," She looked at me.

"What happened to the kid?"

"They found her mom, she died of an overdose," at this point everyone was looking at her. "We'll talk in the morning ok." Kara and I made our way to Lauren's guest room to sleep.

SANDRA'S POV*****

"RISE AND SHINE GUYS, RISE AND SHIIINE!!" Mae yelled standing in the door way. Lauren threw a pillow at her.

"I'll rise Diaz, but I most certainly won't shine," she turns to me. "If I'm pissy at school blame it on your friend." she said sarcastically.

"I made you guys breakfast,"Mae said happily. Lauren stopped.

"Ok I take it back." We got ready for school, I rode with Lauren today. It was a great morning but I spilled coffee on my t-shirt and asked Lauren for her keys to change in her car. She secretly handed them to me. I was walking alone and was looking around to make sure everyone was minding their own. I got into the car and changed then as I stepped out I met eyes with a familiar pair of green with an " I get it now" expression.

"Esme," I whispered to myself. After our little incident as I like to call it she never spoke to me again, eventually she'd glance at me with an unknown expression but never approached me. Well suck me sideways I'm definitely fucked. She started heading in my direction and I knew I'd have to keep her mouth shut but as we approached each Other I was cut off. Kalie stepped into view.

"Sandra, did you get a new car?" I couldn't think quick enough and spaced off. I shook my head Esme was getting closer by the second.

"I'm sorry what'd you say?" She looked at me questioningly.

"I asked if you got a new car cause I know that's not yours. Wait. Whose car actually is that." I panicked.

"It's um I got a ride from," I was cut off.
