After spending a night at the Coumarine Pokemon Centre and having her Pokemon healed by Nurse Joy, the young blonde haired trainer made her way to the gym and was greeted by Ramos.
"Good morning, young sprout," said Ramos as he approached Bonnie.
"Good morning to you too Ramos. I'm here for a gym battle," replied Bonnie.
"Very well. Follow me," said Ramos as he led her to the battlefield and went to one side while Bonnie went to the other side.
"This will be an official 3 VS 3 gym battle between the gym leader and the challenger Bonnie. Only the challenger is allowed to substitute her Pokemon and the battle will be over when all of either side's Pokemon are unable to battle. Can both sides please take out their first Pokemon," requested the referee.
"Go Jumpluff," said Ramos as the Cottonweed Pokemon appeared floating in the battlefield.
"Go Dedenne," said Bonnie as the Antenna Pokemon jumped into the battlefield.
"Battle begin," declared the referee.
"Dedenne, use Thunderbolt," said Bonnie as the Antenna Pokemon released a powerful Thunderbolt towards Jumpluff.
"Use Cotton Guard," said Ramos as Jumpluff glowed white and several puffs of cotton surrounded the latter, sharply increasing its defense. However, it was also directly hit by a Thunderbolt and took a fair amount of damage.
"Now use Sunny Day," ordered Ramos as Jumpluff then caused the entire battlefield to become covered in harsh sunlight, using it as an attempt to boost its speed to its ability, Chlorophyll.
"Use Nuzzle," commanded Bonnie as Dedenne approached Jumpluff and began nuzzling it with the electricity stored in its red cheek pouches. Even though Jumpluff did not take much damage due to the effects of Cotton Guard, it became paralyzed and could not activate its Chlorophyll ability.
"Strike it down with Iron Tail," ordered Bonnie as Dedenne's tail glowed silvery white and began to aim towards Jumpluff.
When Dedenne was within close range with Jumpluff, Ramos gave out an order. "Fire with Solar Beam," said the gym leader as Jumpluff released a powerful beam of sunlight towards Dedenne and scored a direct hit.
"Use Thunderbolt this time," commanded Bonnie as Dedenne released another powerful Thunderbolt towards Jumpluff.
"Fire again with Solar Beam," ordered Ramos, but due to paralysis, Jumpluff was unable to move and was struck by Thunderbolt, thus knocking out the latter.
"Jumpluff is unable to battle. Dedenne wins," said the referee.
"Return, Jumpluff. You did a great job. Now take a good rest," said Ramos as he returned the Cottonweed Pokemon back to its PokeBall. "Go Weepinbell," he said as the Flycatcher Pokemon appeared on the battlefield.
"Battle begin," said the referee.
"Quickly finish it with Poison Jab," commanded Ramos as Weepinbell, whose speed is doubled thanks to its ability Chlorophyll and the harsh sunlight covering the battlefield, had reached Dedenne and jabbed it with poison several times without giving Dedenne the chance to respond and knock the latter out, thus Poison Jab being a super effective move.
