Chapter 69 - A Handful of Reunion Battles (Part 1)

The next day, after lunch, as Ash and his friends from Alola (Hala, Professor Kukui, Lana, Mallow, Kiawe, Sophocles, Lillie, Hau and Gladion that is) began to head to one of the battlefields for some training, a familiar voice was heard from behind.

"Yo Ash, over here," said the voice.

"Flint, is that you?" asked Ash as he and his group approached the red-haired Sinnoh Elite Four member.

"Indeed it is. And I have brought someone else along with me," said Flint, and a blonde haired figure appeared from behind him.

"Long time no see, Ash," said the blonde-haired figure.

"It really has been a long time, so happy seeing you again, Volkner," said Ash.

"Right back at you," replied Volkner.

"So what brings you two here?" asked Ash.

"Well, after hearing the full story of your betrayal, I contacted Volkner and explained to him about it as well as the tournament that you're taking part of," answered Flint.

"And immediately after gaining full information about your betrayal, I decided to come to Alola and cheer for you along with Flint," added Volkner.

"Wow thanks guys. It means a great deal to me. However, I'm sure you came to find me for some other purpose, am I right?" asked Ash.

"That's right. You know us too well," said Volkner.

"Volkner and I wish to challenge you to a battle," said Flint.

"A battle. Sounds fun. So what battle mode?" asked Ash.

"Flint and I against you in a double battle, where we use 1 Pokemon each while you get to use 2," answered Volkner.

"Sounds great, but before we start, I would like to get a few friends to join us, including Brock and Dawn," said Ash.

"Sure thing. It would be nice to see them again," said Flint.

"Alright, Ash, Flint, your friends and I will head to a battlefield and wait for you and the others," said Volkner.

"No problem, see you soon," said Ash as he headed off to Cabin 206 and knocked on the door.

"Coming," said a female voice and seconds later, the door opened revealing Dawn and Serena.

"Hey Ash, what's up?" asked Dawn.

"Remember Flint and Volkner when we journeyed through Sinnoh?" said Ash.

"Yes, what about them?" asked Dawn.

"Well, they have just challenged me to a battle, so I told them that I was gonna get you and Brock to join us and watch the battle," replied Ash.

"Oh yes, count me in," said Dawn.

"And Serena, you can join us if you wish," said Ash while facing Serena.

"Of course, I'd love to. But who is Flint and Volkner?" asked Serena.

"Flint is one of the Sinnoh Elite Four Members and Volkner is one of the Sinnoh Gym leaders," replied Dawn.

"And I'm about to get Brock to join us," said Ash.

"Alright, let's go and knock on their door," said Serena and the three of them went to Cabin 211 and knocked on the door, which opened a few seconds later.

"Oh, hi Ash," said Lucy.

"What can we do for you?" asked Brock.

"Flint and Volkner has just challenged me to a battle so I wanted to get you and Lucy to join Dawn, Serena and I to where everyone else is gathered," replied Ash.
