Day 2, Match 3:
"This will be an official 2 on 2 tag battle between the pairs Misty & Iris VS Karina and Leslie. All trainers are only allowed to use 1 Pokemon with no substitutions and the battle will be over when all of either pair's Pokemon are unable to battle. Can both sides please send out their Pokemon?" requested the referee.
"Seems like its the first match of the traitors," said Alain grimly.
"Let's see if Misty and Iris manage to win," said Dawn.
"They certainly have gotten stronger. So we'll just have to wait and see," replied Ash.
"However, from what Ash and I know. Misty mostly has Water Type Pokemon, so that gives her a disadvantage when competing," said Brock.
"Maybe so, but Misty's Gyarados can Mega Evolve, so we should still be careful if we end up facing up against her," said Serena.
"Go Politoed," said Misty as the Frog Pokemon appeared on the battlefield.
"Go Excadrill," said Iris as the Subterrene Pokemon appeared on the battlefield.
"Fearow, let's win this," said Karina as the Beak Pokemon flew into the battlefield.
"Skunktank, I'm counting on you," said Leslie as the Skunk Pokemon appeared on the battlefield.
"Battle begin," said the referee.
"Excadrill, use Swords Dance," ordered Iris as the two metal claws on the Subterrene Pokemon glowed purple and swung repeatedly, sharply raising its attack.
"Start off with Sky Attack," commanded Karina as Fearow began shrouding itself with a harsh white beam of light and started charging energy for the next turn.
"Use Ice Beam on Fearow," said Misty as Politoed opened its mouth and fired a powerful beam of ice towards Fearow, scoring a direct hit and inflict a lot of damage.
"Hit Excadrill with Flamethrower," said Leslie as Skunktank opened its mouth and fired a powerful jet of flames towards Excadrill, scoring a direct hit and deal lots of damage.
"Use Scald on Skunktank," ordered Misty as Politoed opened its mouth and fired a jet of hot water at the opposing Skunktank.
"Counter with Sludge Bomb," said Leslie as Skunktank opened its mouth and fired a glob of brown sludge towards the incoming attack, causing an explosion that damaged all 4 Pokemon.
"Use Sky Attack on Politoed," commanded Karina as Fearow finished charging its attack and dived towards the opposing Frog Pokemon.
"Stop Fearow with Iron Head," said Iris as Excadrill's head glowed silvery-white and charged towards Fearow, causing both attacks to temporarily collide with each other. Seconds later, an explosion broke out damaging all four Pokemon.
"Use Flamethrower on Excadrill once more," ordered Leslie as Skunktank opened its mouth and fired a jet of flames towards the Subterrene Pokemon.
"Finish it off with Drill Run," said Iris as Excadrill placed its claws together and formed a drill, spinning towards the incoming Flamethrower attack at a high speed, causing the attack be cancelled out and eventually score a direct hit on Skunktank, dealing heavy damage and knocking the latter out of action.
"Skunktank is unable to battle," said the referee.
"Return, Skunktank," said Leslie as the Skunk Pokemon was recalled.
"Use Ice Beam on Fearow again," ordered Misty as Politoed fired another beam of ice towards the Beak Pokemon.
"Dodge it and use Aerial Ace," said Karina, but noticed that Fearow could not move due to the effects of Iron Head and was directly hit by the Ice Beam, causing it to faint after being struck by the super effective attack.
"Fearow is unable to battle, Politoed and Excadrill wins. Therefore the winner of this match is Misty and Iris," said the referee.
Day 2, Match 4:
""This will be an official 2 on 2 tag battle between the pairs Bianca & Stephan VS Madelyn and Nelson. All trainers are only allowed to use 1 Pokemon with no substitutions and the battle will be over when all of either pair's Pokemon are unable to battle. Can both sides please send out their Pokemon?" requested the referee.
"Emboar, let's do this," said Bianca as the Mega Fire Pig Pokemon appeared on the battlefield.
"Liepard, let's win," said Stephan as the Cruel Pokemon appeared on the battlefield.
"Cofagrigus, go," said Madelyn as the Coffin Pokemon appeared on the battlefield.
"Let's go, Dragalge," said Nelson as the Mock Kelp Pokemon appeared on the battlefield.
"Battle begin," said the referee.
"Liepard, use Nasty Plot," ordered Stephan as the Cruel Pokemon created 3 animated question marks, sharply raising its special attack.
"Emboar, use Bulk Up," said Bianca as the Mega Fire Pig Pokemon flexed its muscles while its body became surrounded with a red aura, increasing its attack and defense.
"Dragalge, use Hydro Pump on Emboar," said Nelson as the Mock Kelp Pokemon fired a powerful jet of water on Emboar, scoring a direct hit on the latter and deal lots of damage.
"Cofagrigus, use Calm Mind," ordered Madelyn as the Coffin closed its eyes as its body glowed white, increasing its special attack and special defense.
"Bianca, since the opposing Dragalge knows Hydro Pump, which can prove troublesome for your Emboar, let's focus on taking it out first," said Stephan.
"Agreed," said Bianca.
"Alright, Liepard, use Dark Pulse on Dragalge," ordered Stephan as the Cruel Pokemon opened its mouth and fired an array of black rings covered with purple energy towards the Mock Kelp Pokemon.
"Counter with Dragon Pulse," ordered Nelson as Dragalge fired a purple beam of energy towards the incoming Dark Pulse. However, due to Nasty Plot, Dark Pulse managed to overpower Dragon Pulse and score a direct hit on Dragalge, causing it to become heavily damaged and additionally flinch.
"Now use Hammer Arm on Dragalge," commanded Bianca as Emboar's arms glowed white and charged towards Dragalge.
"Use Shadow Ball on Emboar," said Madelyn as Cofagrigus fired a Shadow Ball at the Mega Fire Pig Pokemon.
"Hit it back with one of your arms," ordered Bianca as Emboar successfully managed to repel the Shadow Ball with one of its arms back at Cofagrigus, causing it to be hit by the super-effective attack while the Mega Fire Pig Pokemon continued to charge towards Dragalge, who could not move from flinching and was directly hit by the attack, eventually fainting a moment later.
"Dragalge is unable to battle," said the referee.
"Return, Dragalge," said Nelson as the Mock Kelp Pokemon was recalled.
"That was quick seeing one Pokemon already out of action," commented Clemont.
"Agreed," said Tobias.
"Use Energy Ball on Liepard," ordered Madelyn as Cofagrigus fired a green ball of energy towards the Cruel Pokemon.
"Eliminate it with Dark Pulse," commaned Stephan as Liepard opened its mouth and fired an array of black rings covered with purple energy towards the incoming Energy Ball, soon overpowering the latter and eventually scoring a hit on Cofagrigus, being super effective and soon knocking the Coffin Pokemon out of action.
"Cofagrigus is unable to battle. Liepard and Emboar wins. Therefore the winner of this match is Stephan and Bianca," said the referee.
"And Cofagrigus was taken down really quickly as well," commented Cameron.
"One of the shortest battles I've seen in this tournament," said Serena.
"Aside from Ash's battle against Dylan, I agree," said Dawn.
"Next would us after lunch," said Kiawe.
"So fired up. Let's win this," replied Gladion.
"So that marks the end of the morning matches for today. Everyone is now free to leave the stadium," said Charles Goodshow as everyone began walking out of the stadium and head for lunch before the afternoon matches were due to begin.
