"This will be an official 6 VS 6 battle between the trainers Dawn and Iris. Substitutions can be made at any time and the battle will be over when all of either side's Pokemon are unable to battle. Can both trainers please send out their first Pokemon?" requested the referee.

"Piplup, spotlight," said Dawn as she sent out the Penguin Pokemon into the battlefield.

"Emolga, let's go," said Iris as the Sky Squirrel Pokemon was taken out into the battlefield.

"Dawn better be careful. Piplup has been placed at a huge disadvantage," said Bonnie.

"Let's see how Dawn is gonna handle the type disadvantage," said Clemont.

"Battle begin," said the referee.

"Emolga use Air Slash," ordered Iris as Emolga flapped its hood, firing multiple sharp slashes of air at the opposing Piplup.

"Counter with Ice Beam," commanded Dawn as Piplup opened its mouth and fired a powerful beam of ice towards the opposing Air Slash, easily overpowering it and scoring a super effective hit on Emolga.

"Grr. Use Rain Dance," said Iris as Emolga summoned multiple dark clouds over the battlefield, and seconds later, rain began to descend.

"Trap Emolga with Whirlpool," ordered Dawn as Piplup opened its mouth and fired a giant, powerful whirlpool at the opposing Sky Squirrel Pokemon, scoring a direct hit and trapping it.

"Now use Thunder," commanded Iris as Emolga fired a powerful bolt of electricity from its cheeks at Piplup.

"No point in trying to dodge the attack," Dawn thought to herself. "Trap Emolga by freezing the Whirpool with Ice Beam," said the blunette as Piplup fired a powerful beam of ice at the whirlpool, trapping Emolga. Unfortunately, the Penguin Pokemon was also hit by the super effective Thunder and was knocked out by the impact of the attack.

"Piplup is unable to battle. Emolga wins," said the referee.

"Too bad Piplup got taken out at this stage," said Serena in disappointment.

"Well considering that Piplup managed to score a good deal of damage while facing off against Emolga with a type disadvantage, I'd say it did really well overall," said Ash.

"That's true. And look now. It's now trapped in ice, which allows Dawn to finish it off with one shot," said Brock.

"Return, Piplup. Take a good rest," said Dawn as she recalled the Penguin Pokemon. "Now, Typhlosion, you're up next," said the blunette as she took out the Volcano Pokemon into the battlefield.

"Battle begin," said the referee.

"Emolga, break apart the ice using Iron Tail," commanded Iris as the Sky Squirrel Pokemon began smashing the surrounding ice into pieces.

"Use Sunny Day first," ordered Dawn as Typhlosion summoned a harsh sunlight over the battlefield, causing the rain and the dark clouds to disappear.
