Paul's Pokemon moveset update:
Ursaring: Bulk Up, Slash, Close Combat, Play Rough.
Magmortar: Flamethrower, Sunny Day, Thunderbolt, Solar Beam.
Torterra: Swords Dance, Seed Bomb, Earthquake, Stone Edge.
A few days after defeating Elesa in Nimbasa city, the purple-haired trainer from Sinnoh made his way west and arrived in Driftveil City. It was already night time by the time he arrived, so he decided to wait until tomorrow when challenging the gym.
The next morning, after collecting his Pokemon from Nurse Joy and having breakfast, Paul made his way to gym. The moment he entered the gym, he saw an elevator in front of him and made his way downstairs and was greeted by Clay.
"Greetings young man. I am Clay, the gym leader of Driftveil City. Are you here for a gym battle?" asked Clay.
"That's correct. My name is Paul, and right now if possible please," replied Paul.
"Hmm..." Clay thought to himself while assessing the purple-haired trainer standing in front of him. "He doesn't seem to be one of those young trainers who is inexperienced. Let's see how he fares against my Pokemon."
"Alright Paul. I accept your challenge. Follow me," said Clay as he led the way to the battlefield.
As soon as the two arrived at the battlefield, Paul made his way to one side and Clay to the other.
"This will be an official 3 VS 3 gym battle between the gym leader, Clay, and the challenger, Paul. Only the challenger is allowed to substitute his Pokemon and the battle will be over when all of either side's Pokemon are unable to battle. Can both trainers please send out their first Pokemon?" requested the referee.
"Alright, go Krookodile," said Clay as he sent out the Intimidation Pokemon onto the battlefield.
"Ursaring, standby for battle," said Paul as the Hibernator Pokemon appeared standing on its two legs in the battlefield. The moment it entered the battlefield, it was met with a glare from Krookodile, and it's attack was lowered.
Paul cursed to himself, as he realized that this was due to Krookodile's ability, Intimidate.
"Battle begin," said the referee.
"You can go first, Paul," offered Clay.
"If you insist. Ursaring, use Bulk Up," ordered Paul as a red aura surrounded Ursaring while it flexed its arm muscles, increasing its defense and restoring its attack stat back to normal.
"Use Earthquake," ordered Clay as Krookodile had released a powerful earthquake that shook the battlefield and inflicted damage on Ursaring, but was slightly reduced due to Bulk Up.
"Use Bulk Up again," ordered Paul as Ursaring flexed it's arm muscles while another beam of red aura surrounded the latter and increasing its attack and defense.
"Bite it with Crunch," said Clay as Krookodile bared its fangs and charged towards Ursaring.
"Ursaring, use Slash," said Paul as one of the Hibernator Pokemon's claws glowed white and aimed towards Krookodile's Crunch.
Both attacks collided with each other, with neither way giving way. But Paul, who was concerned at the very start of the battle due to Krookodile's Intimidate, gave a small smirk as he thought of an idea, reminding of when his Electivire battled and defeated Ash's Pikachu in the Sinnoh League.
"Now use your other hand," said Paul as Ursaring's other claw glowed white and scored a direct hit on Krookodile and knocking the latter a few metres backwards.
