Paul's Pokemon moveset update:
Ninjask: X-Scissor, Swords Dance, Metal Claw, Aerial Ace.
Honchkrow: Sky Attack, Night Slash, Steel Wing, Heat Wave.
Hariyama: Cross Chop, Stone Edge, Bulk Up, Iron Head.
A few days after defeating the Poison type gym leader, Roxie, in Virbank City, the purple haired trainer had arrived at Castelia City, a place with many tall towers surrounding the skyline.
Upon entering the city, Paul made his way to the Pokemon Centre and booked a room to stay overnight. The next morning, after finishing breakfast, the purple haired trainer collected his Pokemon he gave to Nurse Joy last night and arrived at the gym a few minutes later.
"Greetings, challenger," said a figure as he approached Paul. "My name is Burgh, the Castelia City gym leader. I presume you are here for a battle?"
"That's right, as soon as possible," replied Paul.
"Not a problem. Is a 3 on 3 battle okay with you?" inquired Burgh.
"Definitely. Shall we begin?" asked Paul.
"One step ahead of you," replied Burgh, as the two trainers made their way to either side of the battlefield.
"This will be an official 3 on 3 gym battle between the gym leader Burgh and the challenger Paul. Only the challenger is allowed to substitute his Pokemon and the battle will be over when all of either side's Pokemon are unable to battle. Can both trainers please take out their first Pokemon?" requested the referee.
"Go Dwebble," said Burgh, as the Rock Inn appeared on the battefield.
"Ninjask, standby for battle," said Paul as the Ninja Pokemon appeared flying on the battlefield.
"Battle begin!" declared the referee.
"Ninjask, begin with Swords Dance," ordered Paul as the Ninja Pokemon's small pair of claws began to glow white and started dancing.
"Dwebble, use Stealth Rock," commanded Burgh as Dwebble released an array of small rocks on Ninjask's side of the battlefield.
"Smart move," Paul thought to himself.
"Now use X-Scissor," said Burgh as the two orange claws on Dwebble glowed purple and formed an X-Shape, aiming towards the opposing Ninja Pokemon.
"Same for you Ninjask," commanded Paul as the Ninja Pokemon imitated the actions of Dwebble and aimed directly at the approaching X-Scissor, creating a dust of cloud, but due to the effects of Swords Dance, Ninjask was successful in overpowering the X-Scissor executed by the Rock Inn Pokemon and creating a fair amount of damage on the latter.
"Darn it. Use Stone Edge for a change," ordered Burgh as a double ring of stone's spun around Dwebble and began firing towards Ninjask.
"Eliminate all of them with Metal Claw," commanded Paul, as both of Ninja's small claws glowed silvery white and effectively eliminated the incoming array of sharp stones and scored another direct hit on Dwebble, this time inflicting more damage than before, being a super-effective attack on the Rock Inn Pokemon.
"I better finish this as soon as possible," Burgh thought to himself. "Conclude this with Rock Wrecker," commanded the gym leader as Dwebble, who was to the brink of losing almost all of its energy, gathered all of its remaining strength and hurled a large sized boulder at the Ninjask.
"Use Metal Claw once more," ordered Paul, as the Ninja's Pokemon pair of claws glowed silvery white again and attempted to negate the opposing Rock Wrecker.
