With Ash and his friends at the buffet restaurants on the day the raven-haired trainer defeated Harrison:
"Gary, there's something I need to talk to you about," said Ash.
"What is it, Ashy-Boy?" asked Gary.
"I'll explain later in my cabin. For now, let's finish eating first," replied Ash.
"Sure thing," said Gary.
30 minutes later, in Ash's Cabin:
"Alright, Ash. What is it you wish to discuss with me?" asked Gary.
"Well, as you know, there will be no matches tomorrow, so I was wondering if you are free tomorrow," replied the raven-haired trainer.
"At this point, I don't have any arrangements tomorrow, so I am free," said Gary.
"Awesome. Do you know Lillie?" asked Ash.
"The blonde-haired girl who is one of Professor Kukui's students?" said Gary.
"Yes. Earlier before dinner, she spoke to me about wanting to know more about you," replied Ash.
"Know more about me? How come?" asked Gary.
"Well she is knowledgeable about the Pokemon native in Alola and wanted to know more about the Pokemon from the different regions, and I know that you are very knowledgeable with the ones from Kanto, Johto and Sinnoh, so I thought it would be great if the two of you meet together tomorrow, know each other more and exchange information," said Ash.
"Interesting, but why me specifically?" asked Gary in curiosity.
"Possibly because you're the grandson of the renowned Professor Oak," replied Ash while smirking.
"Oh stop it. What else did the two of you talk about?" asked Gary.
"Just my friendship and rivalry with you," answered the raven-haired trainer.
"Just that?" said Gary raising his eyebrows.
"Well what else did you expect me to talk about?" said Ash.
"Ehh, nothing else I can think of really, but back to the main point. When should I meet up with Lillie?" asked Gary.
"I was thinking after breakfast tomorrow morning," answered the raven-haired trainer.
"That's fine with me," said Gary.
"In that case, I'll let Lillie know and confirm with you that she's okay with it," said Ash.
"Awesome, thanks for setting me up on a date," said Gary smirking.
"I wasn't really thinking of it as a date, but no problem," said Ash sweatdropping. "Alright, that's all that I needed to talk about."
"Okay then I'll return to my cabin then," said Gary.
"Go ahead," said the raven-haired trainer and his childhood friend and rival left Cabin 205 and returned to Cabin 209.
15 minutes after taking a shower, the raven-haired trainer made his way to Cabin 202 and knocked on the door.
"Coming," said a voice and seconds later, the door opened to show Lillie.
"Hi Ash, how did it go?" asked the blonde-haired girl.
"Very successful, is it okay if you two meet after breakfast?" said Ash.
"Yep, that's perfectly fine with me," said Lillie.
The next day, during breakfast:
"Hey Gary, Lillie told me she is okay with meeting you after breakfast," whispered Ash.
