Two people stood on a small hill
Their shadows reaching the river mill
The girl rested her hand on his shoulder
But he pushed it off and ran behind a boulder
Her lonely shadow hovered atop the river
As she walked away with a shiver
Wet tears trickled down her face
And she raised her head to space
A second shadow appeared next to hers
And they became one with a blur
The girl glanced around
And let out a cheerful sound
He placed a hand on her shoulder
As the weather grew colder
They walked away with smiles on the faces
With their shadows matching them in the empty spaces
Day after day they returned to the hill
Overlooking the quiet river mill
Always together, never apart
For they were bound in their hearts
