Starlight dances and moonlight glitters
On the face of the river
In the midst of winter so bitter
Yet still there is a sliver
Of peace on the icy waters
Where light and darkness live
And treat the river as their daughter
And to peace she gives
A place where light thrives
With darkness as his best friend
The only place where love survives
Up to the very end
Winters bitter and sickness near
Drown in the river's love
A river so deep and clear
With light shining above
