In the forest the wolf howls

While nearby a bear growls

A spotted owl casts a shadow over the forest

Dropping leaves into the raging torrent

But throughout the forest a cry rings

And all the creatures freeze, even those with wings

The river slows its pace

As out from the shadows steps one filled with grace

A leopardess with a body so sleek

But her amber eyes look bleak

The forest bows to the beautiful feline

And her eyes begin to shine

She sits down and curls her tail over her paws

Her amber eyes sweep over the forest and pause

For they are locked on a small white owl

The leopardess beckons him with a growl

And the little owl flies to the mighty cat

She greets him with a gentle pat

And lifts him onto her shoulder

With a growl she leaps onto a boulder

And the forest bows to the leopardess and the owl

The leopardess leaps and begins to prowl

The little owl still on her back

Keeping the forest safe and the river on track
