Shadows roam wherever light kisses
With a shadow you are never alone
They follow you everywhere you go
Whether before you or after you
Or even to the side of you
But a shadow refuses to walk in the darkness
Vanishing as it knows that the darkness is where it belongs
In the darkness you are truly alone
Where you thoughts can roam
But if another person comes along
Either friend or foe
Your mind becomes engulfed in them
Whether it be escaping or just speaking
Once again not alone
In the light your shadows become friends as well
In the darkness they disappear
Yet you are still not alone
