In the Night Sky

Hand and hand

And arm in arm

Stand a group of stars

Close yet far

Four of them to be exact

Each one slightly different than the last

The brightest one stays in the middle

As her three friend circle around

One has a blue tint

And it joins with the brightest star

The others shine with joy

But they cannot outshine the brightest star

She smiles at her friends

As they dance around

Yet there is sorrow in her glittery eyes

Who knows the secrets of the star

The one that shines so close

To our sun

No other star seems to know

Except the one who dances with her

Around and around

Swirl the two stars

One slightly blue and one bright

Until they merge into one

The others cheer

But the brightest star disappears

They scurry around the lightening sky

Yet there is no trace of the star

Who used to shine

So brightly in the night sky
