My eyes fluttered open, and I sat up slowly, remembering the night before. It had been a long time since I'd slept so well. I pushed the blankets aside as I glanced at the clock. It read 8:17.
I walked over to the balcony doors, but the light streaming in blinded me as I stepped into it. I leaned on the windowsill, watching a man in the garden tend to the flowers.
I turned my back to the window and stepped into the glorious closet. I soon came to a nice, simple dress and a pair of sandals. I brushed out my long mahogany hair and tried to make it look nice.
Knock Knock Knock. "Y/N?" The Queen's voice echoed off the walls, "Are you awake in there, Dear?"
I opened the door, "Yes."
She clasped her hands together and gave a small laugh, "Oh, You look absolutely lovely!"
I curtseyed slightly and shut the closet door, as she pulled something out from behind her back. It was a beautiful flower crown that matched the dress I was wearing. I could tell she had formed it behind her back with magic.
She led me down to the Dining Hall, where she sat me down near the end of the table. I gazed open-mouthed at the mountains of food adorning the table. Frigga sat down beside me and helped me help myself to a waffle and (favorite fruit).I finished my food, and I noticed two boys sitting at the far end of the table. One, the blonde prince I'd seen, was eating quite the mountain of pancakes and speaking to his father about wanting to be a Valkyrie. I didn't know what that was, but that's what I thought he said. The raven-haired boy was stuffing his face as well. His mountain of food was disappearing much quicker than his brother's, and he seemed to be stifling laughter for the sake of his food. I laughed to myself and finished eating slowly. Soon, the boys' plates were empty and they ran from the Hall.
"When can I meet them?" I asked thoughtfully.
"Soon, Dear." She gestured to the remaining scraps on my plate, "Finish up. Then you can meet them."
When I had finished, we got up and left the Hall. Frigga summoned two maids, telling them, and me, that should I need something and Frigga was unavailable, I was their responsibility. I just barely caught their names: Amethyst and Seraphina. They have pretty names, I thought.
We continued walking until we reached the open doorway that led to the courtyard. A guard was stationed on either side of the huge doorway, and they nodded their heads in acknowledgement of the Queen as we passed. We stepped down the short staircase and passed a beautiful set of trees on either side of the path. We walked down into a small circle with short flower-hedges. There were elaborate stone benches in front of them on either side of the walkway. A large grassy area laid ahead of us, and beyond them, paths going into different directions. One going into a forest, another over a pretty wooden bridge above a stream that continued on, and the third circled to the right towards where I assumed my room close to. She turned to me and patted the stone bench.
"Wait here, I'll be right back."
I sat down and waited for her to return. Soon though, I turned my attention to the flowers at my feet. I didn't recognize them, but I liked them; They were pretty.
After a few minutes, Frigga reappeared around the side of the flowers. She held her hand out to me,
"Come on, Y/N. They're waiting for you."
