I need to explain the eye color thing. It's important to the story that I do, so bear with me and please read this.
I decided that it would be cool if your eye color changed depending on your emotions. You have glasses/contacts later on that block the world from seeing the colors. The colors change from pale to vibrant, and sometimes screaming neon, depending on the strength of the emotion. I don't know what your eye color is, but I just went with Hazel or brown for the regular color. It would work with blue and green too, I just think it would get confusing. Gray is probably the best tbh. It's hard to make it a reader neutral thing....
Anyway, this is what happens and the emotions that go with the color.
Red: When you get tired, your eyes start to turn red. When you just start to get fatigued, they're a pale pink/red, and they get more vibrant as you get tired.
Orange: When you get sad or depressed, or even frustrated, they turn orange. (Since after crying for a while you get tired, I thought this might work color-wise.) Again, they get more vibrant as your emotion strengthens.
Yellow: When you get happy, your eyes start turning yellow. Not like a creepy yellow like a Sith Lord, but like...........You decide what kind of yellow, I don't know. Use your imagination!
Green: When you get anxious, mad, or you're in a fight (You like fighting, okay? You've got a lightsaber and you like torturing people. It's fun. But you know the time and place, like you don't go around killing people, Don't worry.) your eyes turn bright green. Like Jacksepticeye green. Neon, bright, vibrant, pretty awesome. Yeeeaaaaah!!! That green. I think you get the point...(This is my fav color. I'm not sorry. I had to make it festive...)
Blue: Your eyes turn a bright neon blue when you get scared. (See picture above) Like,you wake up from a nightmare, BOOM blue. Yeah, you get it.
Purple: So for this one, I think a really deep, luscious, beautiful purple would suffice, don't you? Like it? Good, because that's what it is. (See pic below) So basically, Purple is for when you're feeling either loved, love, empathetic, etc. I need to clarify/emphasize that it's mainly love for others and lust.

Now, the finale.
Like I said before, your normal eye color is still around. When you have glasses/contacts on it covers it up and people can't see anything but your regular color.
Also, when you're feeling different colored emotions at once, the colors don't mix, your eyes just turn their "natural color". If it's confusing, I'm sorry, but hopefully it will make sense later.
