After several hours of light bickering and making repairs, I found myself laying at the edge of the top of the Falcon with my legs hanging off at the knees. I had just finished closing an exhaust port next to me and had begun to grow tired.

I liked laying there. It was quiet and was a good space for me to think. We'd been on Sakaar for roughly three to four weeks. Most of the mornings I slipped out of the suite and sat here to meditate in the morning breeze. Most of the day I would make repairs and explore the surrounding area, sometimes with Loki, and then in the evenings we went to the dinners and the parties. The rhythm of it all was getting easier, especially since being around Loki wasn't as awkward anymore.

We weren't exactly dating, but we weren't just friends either. Were we courting? Were we lovers? Is there even a word to describe it? I wasn't sure. It felt like having a boyfriend, but there was some sort of line we hadn't crossed, and I didn't know where said line was.

"Did you get it?" Loki called, crawling from the center hatch.

"Yes," I nodded as he sat down next to me.

I had tied his hair back in a man-bun to keep it out of his way. The setting sun reflected on his face, showing the perspiration on his forehead and the bit of grime on his cheek.

We sat in the silence for a moment. He was watching the sunset, and I was watching it in the reflection of his eyes.

Less than a minute had passed when he looked my way.

"...it is considered rude to stare, darling." Loki told me, seemingly amused.

I sat up abruptly, being careful to look in the opposite direction of him.

"I wasn't staring, I don't know why you would say such a thing."

He smirked, his eyes never leaving me for a second.

"It wouldn't hurt, you know....to move past the elephant in the room." He said, softer now than he was before.

I looked over at him, then down to my hands. I didn't know. Every time we were separated I would work on myself. My walls came crashing down when I was around him. I didn't know how to think. All of the things I was trying to improve went out the window. When I was with him, it almost felt wrong to try and put myself first.

"No one ever said you couldn't continue working on yourself while being with another." He smiled, taking my hand. He had been reading my thoughts.

I don't know what came over me, but in that moment, all I could do was lean forward.

"You kissed me?" He was smirking, his eyebrows raised.

"It was an accident." I had to pull away from him, I was embarrassed with myself.

I looked back over to find him grinning at me expectedly. Loki hooked his fingers under my chin. My eyes closed just before my lips met his.

"You're still kissing me," He mumbled. It almost sounded like a question.

"It's still an accident," I smiled against him.

We spent the rest of the sunset in that moment. There, on the edge of the city.

I looked out to the appearing stars, smiling as they twinkled back at me.

"Do you see anything you recognize?" I asked him, knowing that he was looking too.

"Well," He drew in a breath, "That one there," He pointed at a brighter one, "looks like it may be a planet, but I'm not sure."
