"Ah! Mr. Loki! You're just in time," The Grandmaster said excitedly as we approached.

"I wondered if we would be," Loki laughed, "You haven't been properly introduced to my lovely wife," He motioned to me, "Y/N, as beautiful as she is kind," He said, "and quite the accomplished woman I might say! Truly, I've never heard a more beautiful voice in my life."

OH REALLY

"Y/N? Yes, yes, that was it wasn't it?" I nodded politely as he turned back to Loki, "She really is as beautiful as you said, you'll be careful to keep her away from me otherwise you might not get her back." He winked at me, "And you'll have to sing for us, My Dear! I refuse to let you leave without entertaining everyone."

"Oh I couldn't, really," I said, trying to be polite.

"Oh no, no, no, I insist." He turned to Loki, "Oh, she's so modest, I love her already." I threw up in my mouth. "I'll make sure you get a chance to entertain everyone after the banquet, this'll be such fun!" He clapped his hands briefly before excusing himself to attend to other guests.

I sighed for a moment, "I don't like him." I said. "He makes me uncomfortable."

"I feel the same way," Loki gritted his teeth," I don't like him looking at you like that."

"I guess we'll only be here for a bit, right?" I tried to soften the mood.

"We can leave as soon as the feast is over, that is, unless you plan to sing for everyone."

"I don't think I'll have much of a choice," I told him reluctantly.

"I suppose not." He sighed, "Do you think you'll try your hardest to impress them?"

"Not my hardest, but enough to get the job done." I smiled, "I'm thinking a song that requires piano, I've been practicing."

"You have to practice playing an instrument? You're the Goddess of Music, I thought-"

"Everyone has to practice playing, Loki. Being me doesn't mean I naturally know how to play instruments, it just ensures that I can pick things up and retain it easily."

"Does the same apply for dancing? Is that why I had to teach you to dance for the ball?" He chuckled.

"Yes." I laughed, "Although, I will tell you, Ballet is the only thing I seem to struggle with. There's a lot more to it that I initially thought. It takes all of my being to do it correctly. It's actually quite difficult."

"Mm," He hummed.

"You didn't use fake names?" I whispered to him after a moment.

Gee, that's some attention span you've got there.

"When I first introduced myself he didn't have a clue who I was." He whispered back, "Besides, we're not in a place where we could be easily found."

"Of course not," I said sarcastically, "Because parading around at a party using our real names isn't going to attract any unwanted attention."

"I understand your discomfort, but I promise everything will work out fine, I'll make sure of it."

I sighed softly as the large banquet table began to fill with food. Loki rubbed the backs of his fingers along my arm as we waited for the table. It began to relax me, and it showed. My shoulders relaxed and I stood softer in his arm. He looked down at me for a moment and smiled softly. I looked up at him, a small smile playing on my own lips as well.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing," He replied, "Nothing at all."

"Dinner is served!!" The Grandmaster announced.
