I pushed aside the sheets and blankets as I pulled myself out of bed. It was 8:30 in the morning, which meant I had about an hour before I needed to go out to the forest. I walked out to the balcony to feel the temperature. Hmm....., I thought, Not too bad. I went back inside and fished around in the closet for something to wear. I would change before the coronation anyway. I pulled a nice dress out my closet with a pair of pretty shoes to match. As I went into my bathroom to do my hair, I decided on having it mostly down. I made my face look like I wasn't dead and threw on a soft matte lipstick. I glanced down at my nails, they were still black from the night before. Using magic, I changed them to a soft blue to match the dress.

Noticing the time, I slipped out the door and turned the corner to the courtyard

Noticing the time, I slipped out the door and turned the corner to the courtyard. I walked quickly down the steps, acknowledging the guards as I passed. I made my way down the path into the beautifully lush, green forest. Loki came to meet me while I was still a ways away from the gazebo.

"You look lovely." He smiled as I met him with a kiss. "You have no idea what's in store for you."

I smiled and raised my eyebrow at him, "Oh really?"

"Come on! Before- Well I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise."

Loki grabbed my hand, pulling me faster along the path to his "surprise". When we could see the top of the gazebo through the trees, he said,

"Close your eyes. I won't lead you into a tree, I promise.'

"Lies!" I hissed playfully as he took both of my hands, slowly and carefully leading me up to the gazebo. I kept my eyes closed, though, tempting as it was to open them.

"Do I smell cinnamon?" I sniffed the air. We stopped walking.

"Why don't you see for yourself? Open your eyes, Cupcake."

My eyes fluttered open and I heard myself gasp at the sight. The gazebo had beautiful garlands of flowers strung between each shaft, and a bouquet of white roses sat in a vase on the table. Each rose was tipped with either green, purple, or gold. That's when I noticed the food. There were two places set, each equipped with a small cinnamon roll, strawberries with both milk and dark chocolate, and hot chocolate with whipped cream.

"Loki! You didn't!" I tackled him into a hug.

"I did, actually. And," I pulled away from him, "I put cinnamon in your hot chocolate." He whispered in my ear. He took my hand and led me inside the beautiful gazebo.

"You remembered!"

"Of course I remembered! You were my best friend!"

"Were?"

"Well, now I suppose we're something much better, aren't we?"

I leaned over and kissed him, "Yes, I suppose we are."

After we ate, we went for a short walk deeper into the forest. We talked and laughed before we decided we should go back to the castle to get ready for the coronation.
