Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Loki glaring longingly in my direction as I said goodbye to my new friends.
Finally, Thor turned to me."Ready to leave?"
I nodded, exhaustion and fatigue still lingering heavily on my body. I returned to my armor as we walked towards the center of the crossroad where Loki was standing, fitted with a muzzle and handcuffs. We stood opposite him as Thor offered up the other side of the container holding the Tesseract. I gave Loki a weak smile, not knowing whether I wanted to kill him on the spot or shower him in hugs and kisses because he was alive. Well, except for the bruises and dried blood on his face. He glanced down at the handle and took it. I grabbed onto Thor and we were pulled up into space.
—
I stumbled onto the broken rainbow bridge as Heimdall nodded to us.
"Y/N," Thor began, "I shall leave Loki in your care. I must request an audience with my Father."
"The King is quite busy," Heimdall said, "His schedule has been quite crowded in the time you have been away. It will be difficult to see him on such short notice."
"Any idea on how long it could be?" I inquired.
"A few days to say the least. A week at most."
"A week?" Thor asked. "What of the guards?"
"And the soldiers?" I asked, concerned, "What of them?"
For someone who shouldn't get attached to people, you have an aptitude for it. Specifically soldiers, General.
Stop mocking me. We have important things to deal with right now, we can talk about this later. I'm used to working alongside large groups of soldiers, remember?
Heimdall looked at me sympathetically, "I'm afraid most all of the soldiers have been deployed to other realms, to vanquish the violent revolts uprising and killing innocent lives across the Nine Realms." He paused, "I'm afraid that many have not returned. All too many guards accompanied them to Valhalla."
I shook my head and turned towards the castle. "Good soldiers dying for what they believe in. A tragic fate..." I trailed off. "Good men...good people...."
I felt the backs of a few warm, soft fingers graze the back of my left hand. I looked down to see the shackled hand, then up to meet his gaze.
"It's alright." His eyes smiled gently down at me, "They've served their king well. Happiness awaits them in Valhalla, Don't worry."
I smiled weakly at him before turning to Thor.
"Where should I take him for now? There won't be any guards but in the dungeons and around the throne room. I know how it works to send soldiers."
"The Wreck Room?" He suggested.
The Wreck Room was a room from long ago, even before I left for Hogwarts. The room was made for the three of us to hang out there. It was fully equipped with a pool table, a huge TV, Netflix, a vast movie collection, a bar, basic kitchen, fridge, bathroom, and shower. Yeah, we liked to steal things from Earth as their tech evolved.
(I couldn't find a picture close enough to what I thought of for this, so bear with me.)
"Loki," Thor warned, "Do not try anything. You have done enough already. Do not cause Lady Y/N any trouble." He glanced at me, "Do not kill him."
Loki looked over at me, seemingly ready to go. I sighed and nodded as I gently placed my hand in the small of Loki's back, leading him towards the castle as Thor went ahead of us.
