"Loki pleeeaaaassseee," I whined, "Just one more?"

"Oh Alright," He sighed, kissing my forehead, "You are completely exhausting. I've read five chapters."

"Six." I corrected. "I like hearing your voice," I said with a pouty face.

He huffed softly and reopened the book to the page where he left off, "I'll read just one more, understand? No bribing me to read any more after that."

I snuggled into his side, "Okay."

"Eight eggs were cradled in the hot sands of their pens. Eight anxious young men watched and brooded over them quite as if they had laid the eggs and not the dragon mothers. No longer were they-" He stopped abruptly.

"Loki, what is it?" I asked worriedly.

He stared out of the cell, towards the stairs, where footsteps could be heard.

"No," I breathed as the guards came into view.

The book vanished from Loki's hands, reappearing on the large pile in the corner as he broke away from me and stood, taking a few steps forward. As the pile of guards drew nearer to the cell, I stood.

"Get behind me," He mumbled hurriedly.

"What?" I asked.

"Get behind me," He ordered sharply.

I did as he said, using him as a sort of shield as they came closer and closer to the barrier.

"Stand Aside." The one in front, who I assumed to be the Captain, said sternly.

"I wouldn't do this, if I were you." Loki said.

"We have strict orders to remove her from this cell by any means necessary."

I stepped out from behind Loki, "Yes, and those are your orders. As prisoners, it is not our duty to instruct nor help you on your tasks. So we won't be. I suggest you leave, Soldier." I paused, "We're done here."

Loki glanced at me warily, seemingly surprised at my soldier-like tone.

General Much?

Shut up, Anti. You'd have done the same.

"I'm afraid I can't do that, Miss." The soldier spoke, taking a step towards me.

Loki stepped in front of me protectively, "You heard her. We're done." He paused, "You will not lay a hand on her."

The soldier glanced at the men beside him and nodded slightly.

"Don't you just love it when they carry out orders correctly once in a while." I grumbled.

Loki glanced back at me in shock before returning to a protective stance. The guards proceeded forward, some grabbing towards me, the others attempting to distract Loki. He fought them quickly, summoning a dagger to fight them off. Against four of them with twin swords each, it was no use. They quickly restrained him from fighting back. I kicked and punched at the ones in front of me, trying to avoid the swords. One grabbed tightly at my left arm, pulling my attention towards it.

"Do not touch her!" Loki shouted at them menacingly.

As I brought my weak right arm around, using the momentum to swing myself free of his grasp, two other guards grabbed me by my shoulders, forcing me down to my knees. I continued to fight at them, swinging my punches to hit and dodge at the right moments.

Loki P.o.V.

One of the guards hit the back of her head, a sickening thud echoing from the hit. She glanced up at the guard before fighting back even harder. The guard to her right pulled on her wrist, earning a broken half-scream from her. She swung her other arm around, knocking the guard in his manhood hard enough that he fell to his knees.
