I descended slowly and quietly so the brothers wouldn't hear me. I sat behind a rock above them and watched quietly as I listened to their conversation. Thor dropped Mjolnir and pulled Loki off of the ground, clutching the side and back of his neck to hold his eye contact.

"I thought you dead."

"Did she mourn?" Loki said.

"We all did." Thor told him, "Our Father..."

Loki put his finger up, "Your father." Thor let go of him. "He did tell you my true parentage, did he not?" Loki said as he walked a little ways down the rock.

"We were raised together. We played together, we fought together! Do you remember none of that?"

"I remember a shadow," Loki began.

Oof.

"Living in the shade of your greatness."

Big oof.

"I remember you tossing me into an abyss. I, who was, and should be king!"

Bigger oof.

"So you take the world I love as a recompense for your imagined slights?" Thor asked him, "No. The Earth is under my protection, Loki. And I know Y/N will protect it alongside me."

Loki laughed, "And you're doing a marvelous job with that. The humans slaughter each other in droves while you idly fret." I stood up and put one foot on the rock, still going unnoticed. "I mean to rule them, as why should I not."

"You think yourself above them." Thor said.

"Well, yes." Loki said, his voice quieter.

"Then you miss the truth of ruling, Brother." Thor said, a hint of sadness in his voice, "A throne would suit you ill."

Loki pushed him aside angrily and walked back up the small cliff.

"I've seen worlds you've never known about! I have grown, Odinson, in my exile." He raged, "I have seen the true power of the Tesseract, and when I wield it-"

"Who showed you this power?" I said.

Both of them looked up at me, as if realizing my presence for the first time. Thor turned back to him, his anger and frustration with Loki rising.

"Who controls the would-be king?"

Bad move. Bad Move. Anti and I said at the same time.

"I am a king!" Loki shouted.

"Not here!" Thor shouted back, "You give up the Tesseract! You give up this poisonous dream!" His voice softened, "You come home."

Loki chuckled, "I don't have it."

Thor let go of him and called Mjolnir to him.

"You need the Cube to bring me home. But I've sent it off, I know not where."

I rolled my eyes as I looked to see the Iron Man flying towards Thor. I grinned as I looked back at the Christmas color-brothers.

Ooh this'll be good.

Popcorn anyone?

"You listen well, Brother." Thor began, "I-"

Then the Iron Man swooped through, taking Thor with him and crashing into the trees below.

"I'm listening." Loki said.

I jumped down, landing like a superhero might. You know, the whole one knee thing with the hand on the ground, head down, other arm back- Yeah, okay you get it.
