Loki P.oV.
As Stark walked into the tower, I walked up the opposing side and through the glass doors. I let the door swing shut behind me as I strode towards Stark.
"Please tell me you're going to appeal to my humanity." I said.
"Actually I was planning to threaten you." He said casually.
"You should've left your armor on for that." I smirked.
"Yeah. It's seen a bit of mileage," He said, "and you've got the glow stick of destiny." I looked down at the scepter, "Would you like a drink?"
"Stalling me won't change anything." I told him.
"No, no. Threatening. No drink? Are you sure? I'm having one."
"The Chitari are coming." I turned to the glass windows, "Nothing will change that." I turned back to him, "What have I to fear?"
"The Avengers." He poured the dark caramel liquid into his glass, "That's what we call ourselves. We're sort of like a team. "Earth's mightiest heroes"- type thing."
"Yes, I've met them."
"Yeah it takes us a while to get any traction, I'll give you that one. But let's do a headcount here. Your brother, the demigod, a super soldier, a living legend who kind of lives up to the legend. A man with breathtaking anger-management issues, a couple of master assassins, and you, big fella, you've managed to piss off every single one of them." Stark paused, "Oh, and let's not forget your girlfriend. She's the most pissed off, I'd watch out for her."
"That was the plan." I told him, "She's not exactly my-"
"Not a great plan. When they come, and they will, they'll come for you."
"I have an army." I chided.
"We have a Hulk."
"I thought the beast had wandered off." I grinned.
"You're missing the point. There is no throne. There is no version of this where you come out on top." He started towards me, leaving his drink behind, "Maybe your army comes and maybe it's too much for us, but it's all on you. Because if we can't protect the Earth, you can be damn well sure we'll avenge it."
"How will your friends have time for me, when they're so busy fighting you?" I pressed the end of the scepter to his heart. Nothing happened. I tried again. Still nothing. I stared at him, confused, "This usually works."
Y/N P.o.V
"Drop me down there." I pointed to the windows about five stories beneath Tony.
"Are you crazy?" Natasha said.
"Particularly." I said casually, "Stark is already up there. If I can slip in, and make it up there undetected, I can kick Loki's ass."
"Alright, just be careful." Steve said.
I started to walk backwards. "Puh-leez! Careful is my middle-" Unexpectedly, I fell off the open hatch.
I smashed into the windows, sending glass across the floor. I ran over to the elevator and quickly punched the button. After a minute, I was at the top floor. The doors of the elevator opened in time for me to see Loki knocked back on the floor by Stark.
"Nice one Stark!" I exclaimed.
Loki sat up a bit and turned to see me.
"Cupcake?"
A large shuddering shook the tower. I looked over at Stark.
I winced, "That sounds bad."
Tony flew upwards and I ran to the shattered remains of the windows. The Chitari began coming down from the now-opened portal.
