Chapter 6

Millie woke up to the school bell. She fell asleep in 4th period since there was a sub. It was Thursday so she was going to tutor Finn after school. 

She walked out of the class and walked to her locker. She was putting her books away when Romeo appeared.

"Hey"

"Hi"

"So i wanted to ask you if you wanted to hang out today after school."

"Thats very nice of you but i cant. Sorry. Maybe another time?"

"Yeah sure. See you around" Romeo says before walking away

Millie closes the locker and makes her way to the field. Since there is a football game they had to practice their cheers and routines.

"Millie your late"

"By 2 minutes"

"Every minute counts now go change"

Millie changed into some shorts and a loose shirt. She put her hair up in a ponytail. She went out again and started stretching with the rest of the girls. She was talking with Sadie when iris came. Iris was a cheerleader along with Millie Sadie Lilia and Maddie. On the other side of the field where the football players practicing for tomorrows game. They began practicing there flips and their cheers. They are excused from 5th and 6th period so they practiced until after school.  It was 4:00 when she arrived home. She went next door and helped Finn study for the math test tomorrow.

Millie was home getting ready for the football game she was wearing her cheer outfit that was blue and white like the school colors. She put her hair in a high ponytail and put a bow on top of it. She then grabbed her duffel bag swung it over her shoulder, grabbed her car keys, and left to the game. She arrived at 7:30 the game didnt start until 8:00 so for the 30 minutes they stretched and practice again. Millie saw Sadie walking over to her. They both sat down and started stretching.

"Hey so theres a party after you wanna go?" asked Sadie

"Sure. Who's party?"

"Finns"

"I don't-" Millie began but was cut off by Sadie

"Nope you already said yes. So after we're going to your house to get ready"

It was currently 10 pm Sadie and Millie were getting ready for the party. Everyone from school was going since they won the game so they wanted to celebrate. Sadie was wearing a tight sparkly strapped dress with black high heels. Millie was wearing a stripes shirt with a denim shirt tied in the front with a black flowy skirt with black laced wedges.

They both walked to the other house which they were immediately greeted by the  smell of weed and alcohol.  They both made their way through the dancing teenagers to the kitchen. They grabbed a drink that had alcohol in it and made there way to the living room. Sadie ended up going to the "bathroom" when in reality she was off to find Caleb. Millie was sitting down drinking when Romeo sat next to her.

"Hey" Romeo said

"Hi" Millie responded giving him a smile

"I'm glad seeing you here"

"Why?"

Romeo shrugged, " I guess since ive met you ive been very attracted to you"

"I would say the same but Ive always been someone that catches boys attention" 

"Oh really?" giving a surprised tone

"Yep"

"You're quite the jokster. How about we go dance?"

Millie was hesitant for a bit but ended up saying yes

Romeo lead the way to the dance floor that was crowded by teenagers. Romeo put his hands on Millie's waist while she put her arms around his neck. As they were dancing Romeos hands began to lower Millie felt uncomfortable so before his hands could reach her butt she took her hands off him

"I'm gonna go get a drink"

"Okay don't take too long"

She nodded before making her way through the crowd. She made her way to the kitchen when she saw Maddie and Lilia. 

"Hey"

"So whats up with you and british boy?" asked Lilia taking a sip of her cup.

"Nothing" Millie began saying "nothing okay he just asked me to dance so i said yes, thats all." She looked at the two girls who didn't believe her but the two didn't ask any other questions. It didnt take that long for Romeo to come looking for Millie. When he saw her he walked over to her. He greeted the Lilia and Maddie before excusing him and Millie. He dragged her outside where some people were hanging out. They sat down on a bench. Seconds turned into minutes and then into hours of them talking and drinking. 

"So how come you moved here?" asked Millie taking a sip of her cup

"My dad got transferred from his job here. So we moved here and at first I was home schooled but then he decided to enroll me to a public school."

"Was it hard? You know moving all the way over here?"

"Yeah at first it was but then it got easier" he set down his cup after drinking the alcohol that was in it.

"Well thats good"

"Yeah" he said giving her smile

They were both quiet being in each others presence. Romeo turned his head to look at her then Millie looked up at him. He looked at her lips then up to her eyes. He began to lean in, Millie would have stopped him but having all of that alcohol in her system she wasn't really in control so she let him. She closed her eyes and let their lips collide with each others. She felt his hand go up to her cheek, his lips were hard and chapped and she could taste the alcohol that he was drinking seconds ago. 

The kiss lasted for 5 seconds, they pulled apart and looked at each other. Millie layed her head on his shoulder while having their hand intertwined with each others. It was nice and peaceful to them until Sadie came followed by Caleb and Finn who were a little bit behind her talking with one another. Sadie went up to her and grabbed her wrist telling Romeo that she was taking her home. 

"Woah Sadie slow down" 

Sadie stopped and turned around looking Millie with a concerned face " Are you okay? Did he try to do anything to you?"

"Sadie i'm fine. Nothing happened" Millie said reassuring Sadie. Caleb and Finn were now next to Sadie listening to them.

"Are you sure ?"

"Yes."

"If he did I won't hesitate to go beat him up" Said Caleb making Millie smile

"Caleb i'm okay, we were just talking. Nothing else happened okay" said Millie looking at all three of them

"Okay. Let's go home now" said Sadie, saying goodbye to them and the walking to Millie's house
