He followed her even though he knew he shouldn't. She was upstairs in her room by the time he was inside the house closing the door behind him. He walked up the spiral staircase to her room. He could hear crying and sniffles coming from behind a white closed door. He opened the door seeing her sitting with her knees up to her chest on the bay window. He closes the door and walks towards her sitting next to her.

"What are you doing?" Millie says looking up at him with her red puffy eyes

"I just- I wanted to make sure your okay" Finn said looking at her with sympathy

"Well you could clearly see that i'm not"

"Yeah. Look I don't know what happened but-"

"You should leave. You're probably hear just to tell the rest of the school so they can make fun of me."

"No I would never-"

"Are you serious, did you forget that you would pick on me when I was younger with your other friends." Millie said leaving Finn speechless. It was true when she cut her hair his friends did not hesitate to start making fun of her.

"I want you to go. Leave me alone your just as bad as your girlfriend. No wonder you're together" said Millie whispering the last part but Finn was able to hear it.

He got up not because Millie said so but because he knew Iris had something to do with her crying. He knew it had to be something bad because Millie would never let Iris get the best of her. Millie was alone in her room crying her heart out and trying to not remember those terrible bad memories but even she couldn't prevent that.

---

Millie woke up with a door slamming. She heard both of her parents shouting at each other. They were arguing about something, whatever it was it was serious since they've never shouted at each other like that before.

"Mom? Dad? What's going on?" she questioned as she made her way to the living room.

"Millie go back into your room right now" shouted her mother making her flinch

"Millie, honey can you go upstairs listen to your mother" Millie nodded going back to her room were she sat on the bay window looking at the closed door.

---

Meanwhile Finn was at Iris house. He needed to know if she had anything to do with Millie crying. Even though he felt like she did he just wanted to confirm it.

"I knew you missed me Finn" she says as she sees him outside the door

"We need to talk" he says walking in the house

"Of course but how about after" she says placing her hands around his neck

"No. We need to talk right now"

"Okay what is it?"

"What did you tell Millie"

"Nothing. I just mentioned her ex that's all no big deal" Iris says not really caring about how his name affected Millie. Finn just knew that he cheated on her but there was obviously more to the story.

"You shouldn't have told her that."

"Why do you care? You both hate each other"

"I-" She was right, he didn't understand why he felt the need to be there for her, he just needed to.

"You're right. Now where were we?" Finn asked placing his hands on her waist making Iris smile.

It was night time when Finn arrived home. He made sure his curly hair wasn't messy and made sure he hid the purple marks on his neck.

"Finn where were you?" asked his mom as he entered the house

"I was at a friends house"

"This late? You should have called or texted I've been worried sick"

"I'm sorry mom it won't happen again"

"You bet it won't you're grounded" she stated

"Grounded?" he questioned

"Yeah. Not only for that but for ditching school"

"I only did that because Mil-"

"Because what?" his mom asked

"Nothing. I'm going to bed" he said before making his way upstairs.

He walked in his room and closed the door behind him. He looked across his window seeing Millie on her bed asleep. He smiled softly before changing into some shorts and going to bed. The last thing on his mind was Millie.
