Chapter 11

Warning

"No!" Millie wakes up. She was having a nightmare/ flashbacks to that night.

"Millie? Are you okay?"

"No. I'm not fine, I can't Finn. It's haunting me he won't get out of my head"

"Who Romeo?"

Millie shakes her head before saying "Jacob" making Finn furrow his eyebrows. 

"What do you mean Jacob? Did he do something to you?" Finn knew that they dated last year but he left school he didn't know why even though there were rumors going around school that he was going to jail, moving away, going to a boarding school.

Millie nodded her head to answer Finn's question. 

"He tried. He tried to rape me at a party" 

Flashback : Millie was in a party with her boyfriend Jacob she knew that she was drunk because she would stumble when she would walk. Jacob took that as an opportunity. So he lead her to one of the rooms upstairs and locked it behind him. He sat her down in the bed taking her drink out of her hand and putting it on the floor the he began kissing her. Millie kissed back because that's her boyfriend and thought that he was just giving her love. Or it could have been due to her being drunk that she kissed back. He then gently pushed her on the bed so he was on top of her while she was in the bottom. He held both her hands over her head while he kissed her down her neck. He started to unbutton her shirt to take her shirt off.

"J-Jacob"

He didn't stop he just kept going at it

"Jacob stop! please" tears began forming in her eyes when she realized that he wasn't going to stop. He wasn't listening to her pleads she tried to get him off of her but he wouldn't budge. He was removing her skirt while his jeans were unbuckled. He was so close to do it when the door busted open. He didn't hear the police sirens or the music being shut down. He was pulled back and was getting handcuffed while they helped Millie up. She fixed herself and cried in the arms of the police officer.

After Millie finished telling Finn she was full on crying, Finn held her until she calmed down. 

"You have to promise me that you won't tell anyone Finn"

"Promise me Finn"

"Promise"

"Okay. Shouldn't you be at school?"

"I thought you would want some company. Also, your mom came in here while you were sleeping and saw me so I had to make up a story which she believed and said that we should just stay home today."

There was a silence until Millie spoke "Finn?"

"Yeah?"

"I know that you went to the party along with Sadie and Caleb so how is it that you were there when you know" 

"Oh um I saw you two leave and I had heard him talking with some of the other guys that he was going to try to get at you. Well I was concerned so I followed you guys"

"Well thank you again, even though its a bit stalker like but i'll let it pass since you saved me."

"I know we've always been seen as enemies I guess but just know I don't hate you" said Millie looking at Finn in the eye

"Back at you brown" 

"So friends?" said Millie extending her hand towards him

"Friends" Finn said grabbing her hand and shaking it while they both smile at each other.

They were currently walking in the forest. They both decided more like Finn decided to go on a walk so he forced her to get out of the house since it has been 2 days since the incident and today is the day that she actually communicated with him instead of just nodding her head or saying yes or no.

"Where are we going?"Millie questioned to Finn who was walking in front of her. 

"I want to show you something"

"How much longer. I'm tired" whined Millie

"We're almost there. Quit whining"

"I wasn't the one who wanted to come so I can keep whining if I want to" said Millie

Finn stopped walking turned around and grabbed her by the legs as he swung her on his back. Millie was hanging upside down as he was walking

"Put me down."

"Nope you said you were tired plus the view is quite nice" commented Finn 

"Perv" Millie muttered. Finn soon put her down when they arrived. Millie looked at where they were at and they were in a spot that she's never seen before. They were by a cliff so there was water streaming through at the bottom. 

"Wow" said Millie

"Come on I haven't showed you the best part"

They walked a little bit more until they went in through a hidden cave where there was a smaller waterfall that connected to the water down below

"This beautiful. How'd you find this place?" asked Millie

"Before my dad was super busy we would always go on adventures and we found this when I was 10. I come here whenever I want to be alone I guess it like my safe place. It can be yours now too."

"Thanks. Since we're showing each other our like safe place I want to show you mine." said Millie before walking out of the cave. 

"You're not going to try to murder me right?" said Finn as he followed behind

"Of course not Finnie. I mean I could but I won't. Now come on hurry"

They soon made it to a tree house that was hidden by the trees. Since the branches were long it covered it a bit. Millie climbed the ladders to the top of the tree house and Finn followed her from behind. 

"So what do you think?"

"It's amazing"

"My dad built it for me when I was 7 without telling my mom of course. Every time he would go away on a business trip I would come here to try to feel closer to him I guess. Come on let's go inside." There were drawings taped/nailed on the wood, some bean bags and some blankets. 

"So since we're friends now should we get to know each other more?" suggested Finn which Millie nodded to 

And that's the day that their friendship started. Who knew that a tragic situation would have brought them closer. 

It was 6 when they decided to go back home. They were outside the front door of Millie's house.

"Thank you Finn for everything. I had a lot of fun" Millie knew it couldn't last long feeling happy and having fun because she knew that when she locked herself in the room or bathroom alone those memories will be waiting for her to haunt her. 

"Hey you're going to be okay" Finn said putting his hand on her shoulder as a sort of comfort . Millie gave him a smile as a respond. She then entered her house closing the door behind her after saying goodbye to Finn.
