The Real Me// fillie

Chapter 14

After Finn left Millie closed  the balcony doors and closed her windows. 

That night when she was getting ready for bed she felt like she wasn't her. Everything was getting to her her parents, school, Iris, Loren, Finn. She's been receiving text messages from an unknown number but she knew it had to be Loren or Iris no matter how much she tried to ignore it she couldn't it was only time that she would break. She grabbed a box that she had hidden at the bottom of her bed. She removed the lid of the box and pulled out a bottle of wine. She opened her balcony doors and climbed up to the roof with the bottle in her hand. She sat down on the roof looking at the sunset starting to disappear. She opened the bottle and took a drink feeling the liquid burn her throat. After drinking half the bottle she saw Finn approach her. He sat down next to her as Millie handed him the bottle. He took it and took a drink from it before setting it back down on the roof. 

"What are you doing here on the roof?"

"Drinking duh?"

"But why?" asked Finn making Millie shrug her shoulders.

"I'm tired."

"Then let's go back inside"

"No not tired as in i'm sleepy and want to go to bed. I'm tired as in like I'm tired of everything. I just can't. 

"You know when you're drunk you tend to open up to me more"

"I know. But it's probably because I'm starting to slowly trust you more"

"Really?"

"Yeah. We've been friends not that long ago but your the only one who actually checks up on me. But I shouldn't let myself  open up to you.

"Yeah but it's just the alcohol in my system. 

"Come on let's go back inside"

"No. I want to stay here and look at the stars." said Millie

"You can look at them another time."

"And you can go ahead and leave."

"You really are a lot of work"

"Thanks." said Millie smiling proudly like she had accomplished something.

"Why do you want to stay out here?"

"Because I-" but she stopped herself from telling him the truth. "I just like being out here when things are going bad or when I have a bad day." she said but Finn knew she wasn't telling him the truth but he decided not to ask. He wants her to trust him and he knows she'll tell him sooner or later due to him knowing that she needs him as well as he needs her too.

Eventually Finn was able to bring Millie back inside her room it took him almost 20 minutes to convince her but after he said that he'll buy her Starbucks for a month she agreed. He helped her lay down on her bed as he took the bottle from her hand and hid it in between her bed and night stand. He then took off her shoes and put the covers over her. After that he turned off the light and left her room through the balcony.

The next morning Millie woke up with a headache obviously due to the amount of wine she consumed the night before. As she began getting ready for school she received a message from Finn saying that he was going to take her to school so she needed to be ready in 15 minutes. 

She heard a honk outside and got a message from Finn saying that he was waiting for her outside. She got her bag, left the house and got in Finn's car. 

"Morning"

"Just drive"

"Someone is grumpy. Anyways we're going to Starbucks first"

"Why? You don't like Starbucks"

"True nice to know you pay attention to my likes and dislikes. I'm only going because i'm going to buy you something"

"Why?"

"Yesterday you told me to buy you Starbucks for a whole month in order for you to go back inside your house."

"I was drunk Finn. I obviously didn't mean it. So you don't have too"

"I know but i'm still going to" said Finn as he pulled up to the the drive thru ready to order her drink. After ordering her a drink and getting her a cake pop he drove to school. 

He pulled up into the school's parking lot and parked in his usual spot. He turned of the engine and took out his keys. 

"Aren't you going to get off?" asked Finn as he looked at Millie who was still and was starring straight ahead. Finn looked towards the direction she was looking.

"Are they being mean to you?"

"I just rather not want them to see me get out of your car." said Millie looking at him

"Okay. Then we can just stay here till the bell rings" said Finn as he received a thanks from her. They stayed in the car for about 10 minutes until the bell rang. They got out of the car when the parking lot was empty and made their way to first period.

"Detention for both of you." said the principal since he was monitoring the halls

"Great" murmured Millie grabbing the detention slip then walking to her first period.

Updates might be slow since finals are coming up and also due to the fact that i'm almost graduating
