Threads of Life: Todoroki x Reader

Day 1 of x Reader Week

“Fuyumi… Is dad going to be home tomorrow?” Todoroki asked with a pain to eat away at his gut. The intestine was lurching within his being, throwing itself harshly upwards leaving Todoroki to bit his lip to prevent his lunch from coming up for a visit. Why was one question so difficult to ask? Why did you have to request something so impossible to give? So many questions that ate away at his body.

“Shoto!” Fuyumi exclaimed, she hasn’t seen her youngest brother since the construction of the dorms, this visit was out of the blue but that couldn’t contain her excitement. “It’s been months Shoto- Wait… That’s one of the last questions I’d ever expect to come out of you,” the girl with snow white hair and red highlights stared at her brother with an inexplicable intent. Why is her brother who detests their father questioning her about the figure?

“I can’t agree with you more…” Shoto agreed with his sister about the question being off, his voice was laced with a sickening disgust.

“Are you avoiding father?” Fuyumi pressed on the subject instead of outright answering the question at hand. Shoto nodded once in a shaky manner. “I’ve figured as much,” she assumed correct. “Hate to break it to you Shoto, but father is home tomorrow. Did you have plans? Why else are you home out of the blue?” Must be something of utmost importance and she’ll do whatever means necessary to help out.

Shoto wasn’t very thrilled to have a barrage of questions thrown onto him all at once, he wanted to vomit more than before. “My girlfriend wants to meet my family for some reason but why? What’s so important about you guys? She’s been bugging me about this for weeks!” Shoto did vomit, word vomit. Those words flooded out so swiftly, Fuyumi missed half of what came out.

“Aw Shoto has a girlfriend,” the guy awed pressing her hands to her cheeks adored by how flustered her brother was.

Great, now his sister was fawning over you. “I’m just gonna tell her no again-”

“No, no, no!” Fuyumi stomped her foot wriggling her index finger before the boy. “I will meet your girlfriend. Now…” The girl cleared her throat, pushing up on the bridge of her glasses to better hug her face. “What’s her name? She must be sweet if she fell for my boring little brother,” now Shoto regrets coming home in general. His sister just had to go off and start insulting him. Yeah, Shoto is aware that he’s quiet and rather dejected most of the time but he has his horrid childhood to thank for such. Clearly that must be a false fact if he has wonderful friends and an even better girlfriend who familiarize themselves with him. But Fuyumi really needs to shut her trap.

“Listen,” Shoto took hold of the situation swallowing his fear all in one gulp. “I know father will do something horrible and make (Y/n) cry or something worse. She wants to meet you all, but not if he’ll turn everything to shit-”

“I understand Shoto,” Fuyumi frowned. “Bring her over tomorrow, I’ll try to keep father busy.”

And so Shoto went to school the next day saying that if you’re still interested in conversing with his broken family that the offer is out for yourself and yourself only. He still wants to know why you’re so determined to meet his family, what would you gain out of it. His oldest brother ran away and is now an unidentifiable changed villain-but nobody in the family is aware of this. His mother is mentally ill and no longer with the family, and the last two older siblings Shoto isn’t by any means close. Fuyumi and Natsuo barely know Shoto as it is thanks to their father who isolated the boy from everyone at a young age. This family is scattered and all so distant… Why would you want to meet them?
