You guys wanted more anime recommendations for some odd reason. But hey, I’m here to deliver! The recommendations this time around compared to the first are anime I’ve pretty much only watched once or will rewatch certain episodes or seasons BUT still recommend anyways as they deserve love. The higher on the list they are, the more I recommend. Two of the recommendations on the other hand AREN’T anime but they were heavily influenced by Japanese animation and quite a lot of people consider them anime anyways (To be fair, one of the two I’m talking about are getting an anime adaptation this year)

Tokyo Ghoul takes place in Japan as the existence and threat of Ghouls are on the rise. Ghouls look exactly like humans, except they can only survive on human flesh. Ken Kaneki, a college student with romance on the mind, scores a date with a beautiful intellectual girl named Rize. When their date is done, and Kaneki was thoroughly happy with how the date went, Rize reveals herself to be a bloodthirsty ghoul and Kaneki was her next meal. By chance, Kaneki survives the ghoul attack as Rize attacks him on a dangerous construction site and dies in the meantime. Doctors managed to save Kaneki, by transplanting Rize’s organs into him. Kaneki soon realizes that his body wasn’t the same as before but rather he was slowly becoming a ghoul himself and now he has to adapt into the ghoul lifestyle. This anime isn’t for the faint of heart. Tokyo Ghoul doesn’t hold back from blood, gore and eating disorders! However, if you can get past that, this is a genuinely great anime that I recommend to everyone. Tokyo Ghoul was one of my gateway anime and to this day I still love it to death! Don’t be scared off by the people who claim the anime is drastically different from the manga, it really doesn’t change anything. I’ve watched the anime AND went out of my way to purchase the manga and both are enjoyable in their own ways. Tokyo Ghoul is gory, sadistic, action packed yet it has wholesome moments and romance to top it off. A little bit of everything so to speak. From the animation, the unique plotlines, characters, voice actors and much more I love it all. I’ve cringed, I’ve cried my eyes out like a blubbering baby, I’ve awed, I’ve done everything you can speak of. I’m purposefully holding out on many details though as to not give off spoilers and such. Unless you have a weak stomach, I’ll guarantee you’ll enjoy this as it’s an odd mix of Parasyte: The Maxim and MHA that I never knew I needed in my life. On top of this, if you like voice actors, many MHA voice actors can be found in Tokyo Ghoul. Monoma is Kaneki, Bakugou is Hide, Mineta is Touka, Shigaraki is Nishio, Iida is Tsukiyama, All Might is Oomori/Jason, Midoriya is Hajime, Aizawa is Arima & Tatara, Momo is Hinami’s mother and many more. Again if you have a strong stomach, love action, romance and a good tear jerker then this anime is for you.
