Kankuro explained to everyone what Lady Chiyo had done. How the reanimation ninjutsu had been created and how it was classified as forbidden before testing could take place.

"Everyone, pray for Lady Chiyo and bid her farewell," Gaara said. We nodded. I closed my eyes and thought about the old lady who I'd seen in the episodes of Naruto. How playful she was before the news struck. How caring she was towards Sakura. How she saved Gaara. She faced her grandson and then saved Gaara.

I was never all that religious but for this woman, a woman truly worth all my respect and whom I respect, I shall pray for a safe trip into her next life.

After a while of silence, we all gathered ourselves and then started walking back to the sand village, slowly but surely. In the end, Temari ended up supporting me while Kankuro and Naruto helped Gaara, and Guy helped Kakashi. Kakashi didn't seem too happy with that fact though...

The air was heavy with sadness but relief and happiness as well. Two opposing emotions that clashed together but at this moment, sang together in a seemingly perfect harmony.

When the wall of Sunagakagure came into sight I couldn't help but notice that each ledge that usually held guards, was completely packed with villagers and shinobi, even the ground was crowded. They were all waiting to see their Kazekage back in his home, safe and sound.

Everyone cheered when they saw us approaching.

Gaara has a home who loves and respects him. I'd say he achieved the goal he wanted most. I'm glad.

"That's what I call a warm welcome," Kankuro said with a grin, Naruto agreed with him.

"Look at how many people there are," Lee said in awe.

"Just what you'd expect for the Kazekage," Neji added with the smallest smile I've seen in my life. It was there though so I guess it counts.

"No doubt," Tenten agreed.

I look at Temari and we both shared a happy laugh. Even though I felt like every limb was about to fall off, I didn't care because this, right before me, was something I got to admire not through the screen of my phone or laptop. Through my own eyes... as blurry as they were...

"I'm glad you're safe," Baki said to Gaara as everyone crowded around happily.

"Thanks to these people," Gaara replied, glancing back slightly.

"Naruto Uzumaki, I thank you," Baki says, turning his attention to the blonde-haired boy.

"Huh? I'm not the one who... I mean, I hardly did anything at all really," Naruto tried to protest.

"Naruto! You did a lot," I told him as everyone looked at him with an amused but proud smile.

"Lord Kazekage, your people are waiting to welcome you home," Baki turned back to Gaara before shooting a glare in my direction that just screamed 'I'll deal with you later'.

What did I do?

The villagers and shinobi all separated, making a path for us to walk down.

"Come. Lead the way."

"Alright then, shall we go?" Kankuro asked before he and Naruto start to walk forward, Gaara moving ever so slightly along with them.

"No wait—" Gaara said before turning around, "not yet."

He was looking at Lady Chiyo.

"Yes, you're right," Temari agreed with his silent protest. I took a deep breath before putting my hand out and concentrating to make a flower. A white rose appeared in the palm of my hand, and I placed it on where I'm going to guess was the old ladies chest, hidden inside the wrapped sheet we'd somehow acquired along the way back.

"Stop using your chakra," Temari glared as me as she whispered that so quietly only she and I likely heard it. I looked away and nodded not really thinking anymore. It was just a gesture that I felt like I should do. As someone who could've quite possibly have prevented this.

We moved out of the way and Lady Chiyo was lead down the middle as Baki shouted: "Let us honour the memory of Lady Chiyo. A moment of silence."

All the villagers closed their eyes, standing straight and bowing their heads as Sakura, Lord Ebizo and four sand shinobi walked down the line.

When we finally got inside the village Temari's grip on me loosened causing me to fall pretty limply down to the ground.

"Y/n!" she exclaimed surprised, everyone turned back, and Sakura pulled her hair up into a ponytail before kneeling next to me.

Why would she let me go like that? She could've at least warned me!

"We need to get this poison out of her system right now!" she announced urgently, medical nin appearing with a stretcher before I was carried away to an emergency room.

My body was numb from everything now. I couldn't even move my toes.

Back to the damn hospital again.

I guess this is the end for me now...
