"Alright get ready to hold her!" Sakura announced. The feeling of people holding my shoulders, arms and legs down made me feel almost panicked, especially when I realised there were quite literally no slack even to turn my ankles. For a moment I was questioning why they were doing this until a burning pain filled my whole body again. It was much worse than the antidote Sakura had given me in the cave.
I screamed out, the pain excruciatingly obvious.
"Another," she called, her voice serious.
Again the pain returned. Over and over until finally all the poison was gone from my blood stream, or so I hoped. The hands stopped holding me down and I looked over in Sakura's direction annoyed.
"Has anyone told you how harsh you are?" I asked her, strained and breathless. She just chuckled and healed the last of my wounds up before helping me stand.
"You're the first to say so. How're you feeling? Any pain?" she asked. I moved around a bit.
Surprisingly... there wasn't a lot.
"Just a bit of aching here and there, other than that..." I answered. She nodded and smiled, giving me a set of new clothes. I thanked her and everyone left the room as I changed.
When I exited I saw Kankuro, Temari, Gaara, and Baki stood outside waiting.
"I really hate hospitals," I stated, grabbing their attention, "never let me in another one again."
"Don't go getting yourself beat up again then," Temari retorted.
"Touché."
We all moved to Gaara's office where Gaara took a seat, Kankuro and Temari on one side of the desk, Baki on the other side and me stood by one of the windows behind him.
The leaf ninja arrived to where we were stood after a while.
"We should be leaving now," Kakashi announced as they all lined up, Guy still supporting him.
"What? You're leaving already? You can stay a little longer, c'mon!" Kankuro tried to convince them.
"Kankuro's right. At least a day or two," Temari agreed, her face clouded with concern and gratitude, "you need time to rest."
"Believe me, I wish we could," Naruto started.
"Me too," Sakura continued, moving so they were stood side by side, "but we must report back to m'lady, the Hokage right away."
"I see," Temari said sadly. I just sighed and stared out of the window.
"Besides if the Akatsuki have managed to get this far into the sand, I'm worried about the leaf villages safety," Kakashi confessed to them. A valid worry.
"I understand, you want to get back as soon as possible," Baki started speaking like he was going to create some huge speech but just stopped at 'possible'.
"Yes. Exactly."
"Even so, in your condition..." he tried to protest against Kakashi's push to leave.
"Oh, don't worry, I have comrades I can rely on to get me there," Kakashi said, giving Guy a very strange look that just made me want to laugh. It was like he was dying inside.
"He's right about that," Guy gave us a thumbs up.
"By the way, we've already dispatched the preliminary report by Takamaru. But there was no mention in it of the fates of the two Akatsuki members," Baki informs them, "won't you want to inform your village?"
"I'll report that news to the Hokage myself," Kakashi told him.
"I feel like this won't be the last time we see Deidara," I stated, everyone gave me a 'huh'? and I just looked at them with an awkward smile, "it was obvious wasn't it? The explosion was just a diversion clone. I thought you were just letting him get away."
"No way..." Tenten muttered.
"I guess the byakugan isn't as all seeing as I thought," I sighed, I guess I have to play the 'I am really from this world and do not know anything' card right now, I'm not really prepared to explain the oddity that is my situation to these people just yet, "how disappointing.."
"Don't cause fights," Temari grumbled at me before Gaara stood up, he looked at me before turning his gaze to the others.
"Before you leave, please follow me," he said, leading everyone out the office and towards the graveyard.
Ahead was Lord Ebizo.
"Is that..?" Sakura asked, trailing off.
"It is, it's Lady Chiyo's resting place," Gaara confirmed.
"She didn't want a head stone on her grave," Lord Ebizo started, "but despite her wishes. I thought it would be better to have one. I felt people would want a place to remember her."
We stood in silence for a while before Kakashi let out a small breath and looked across the group.
"Everyone," Kakashi addressed the leaf ninja, "say your farewells."
They fell silent.
"Let's go," Guy finally says after a few moments off peace. We all walked away until I noticed Lord Ebizo stop, the others stopped to see Sakura and Naruto still stood there.
"Sakura! Naruto! We really should be going!" Lee called after them.
"Right!" Naruto turned, "come on, Sakura. It's time to go."
She joined us and we walked them to the exit of the village. I'm surprised to see the walls have been fixed up so quickly, almost like they weren't blown up and covered in blood previously. Baki disappeared somewhere along the way so me, Temari, Kankuro, and Gaara were the only ones saying goodbye.
"Well, so long," Kankuro said a silence falling quickly after. Naruto and Gaara just stared at each other.
"I guess this is the part where people are supposed to shake hands and get all choked up," Naruto said awkwardly, finally breaking the silence, "but I've never really been good at that stuff either. So left just leave it—"
He froze when he noticed Gaara had stuck his hand out. I noticed the proud smiles on Gaara's siblings' faces and then chuckled slightly when Gaara had to pull Naruto's hand to his with sand because Naruto is an idiot in spirit as well.
"Have a safe travel, you guys. Thanks for helping me out and saving my life, Kankuro's life and Gaara's," I thank them once the two boys had finished having their broment.
"I hope I'll get to see you again one day," Sakura told me, sticking her hand out. Now it was my turn to awkwardly stare down.
"Sorry, that's not my thing. But yeah, when I come to Konohagakure in the future, I'll definitely stop by. Hopefully I won't look like a bleeding mess at that time though," I replied before pulling her into a hug. It was only brief because, man, did I feel awkward.
They then all waved and disappeared off into the distance.
"What an interesting group of people," I smiled.
"They are," Gaara agreed before I felt an arm drop around my neck.
"You, y/n, are probably the most awkward girl I've seen while giving a hug," Temari stated.
"I've never been one for physical contact, now please, get off me," I told her, pushing her arm off my shoulders, "I'm so tired, I actually have to find a house."
"I have a spare room!" Temari yelled loudly.
"You're so loud," I complained as we walked into the village before Baki appeared in front of us. His eyes burning with rage.
"We need to have a little chat, y/n," he says.
Seriously, what did I do?
