I let out a small yawn as I waited for Gaara to finish looking through whatever it was he was looking at before he finally looked up at me again.

"Y/n, this is your first mission. The Leaf Village has requested your assistance in a mission. You will leave immediately," he told me as he passed me the job brief. I glanced over him and gave him a small frown.

"You woke me up and dragged me to your office at 3am on a Saturday for this?" I asked sleepily, he seemed to wear a small smile before falling serious again.

"Yes. Now get ready. This mission is extremely important, you're to investigate a lake that some leaf shinobi have discovered," he told me. I just nodded and reluctantly left the room.

I guess this means another tailed beast will be sealed away soon.

Just when I think I've got a grasp on where I am in the story, something new happens.

"Heading out?" Jiro asked as I reached the end of the wall.

"Yep. Going on a mission, I'll be back at some point," I replied, waving, and adjusting the chakra blades I'd been given a few days ago. I found I was a wind and earth nature, so I learnt how to focus the two of the elements in a blade each. It's pretty cool.

Kind of like how Asuma used to fight, you know, before the whole Hidan situation happened...

It didn't take long, a day max, to reach the lake that the hidden leaf had asked for the extra hands in investigating. If I remember correctly, they're looking for the three tails here? Isobu. Of course, it is down here, that much will be known, and they will fail to stop the Akatsuki from taking him away. I'd like to say me being here, especially because I know what's going to happen, may be enough to stop this but after the whole Gaara situation... I know that I alone am not enough to break the way of fate. So instead, let's just place ignorant. During the war I will be the most of use, I may seem suspicious at first, but the knowledge I have will be invaluable.

Looking around the area, I couldn't help but be a bit surprised. Honestly, it seemed like a pretty normal lake, large but extremely misty. I suppose the mist would be the strange bit. And it wasn't long before I'd noticed the leaf shinobi in a wooden building off to the side of the lake I'd been watching for a few minutes. I was honestly just curious as to whether I'd be able to see the tailed beast below the water's surface, but nothing was visible. At least not clearly.

"I want to take a dip first. Really just confirm that we're at the point I think we are. I'll talk to the leaf nin once I've confirmed that the beast is here," I muttered to myself before diving into the water.

For a moment I tried to just look through the water, but they stung too easily so I shut them again and decided to rely on my jutsu. After moving my eyesight to the plants along the lakes floor, I got a pretty decent look over the area.
