I woke to the sound of something breaking.

Sitting up, I found a familiar red headed Kazekage stood at the foot of the bed cursing as he picked something up off the floor.

"Gaara?" I questioned sleepily as I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and yawned. His head snapped up in my direction.

"Sorry, did I wake you?" he asked, I shook my head but he just gave me a look that told me he knew I was lying.

"What did you break?" I asked, leaning forward a bit but finding myself being pushed back down by sand.

"It was a plate," Gaara mumbled, "I wanted to give you breakfast in bed but..."

Cute.

And clutzy...

"You cultz," I giggled, clasping my hands over my mouth, "ew what was that noise that just escaped me?"

Gaara's hands took my own and his planted a kiss on my lips before smiling.

"It was out of your usual character but still equally adorable," he told me before kissing my forehead and going back to clean up the mess he'd created.

"Do you want some help or...?" I trailed off, I was holding back my mocking and joking so hard that it was hurting my ribs.

Gaara let out a defeated sigh and I watched as his head nodded robotically. I jumped out of the bed and started picking up the plate shards, carefully placing them on the tray that was also upside down on the floor before picking up the toast and an apple.

"One things still edible," I said to him with a grin, tossing the apple up and down a few times before taking a bite. He looked pretty disappointed though.

"It's the thought that counts," I smiled and brushed his hair back from his eyes, grabbing the tray and walking downstairs.

"Is she awake yet, Gaara?" Temari turned but noticed it was me instead of Gaara, "oh. Good morning, y/n!"

"Good morning, Temari," I nodded at her, placing the tray down on one of the counters and then walked into the livingroom dropping onto the sofa with a huff before finding my feet being lifted by Temari so she could take that space as Kankuro sat in one of the armchairs and Gaara in the other.

"So what's happening?" I asked, everyone fell serious.

"All the feudal Lords have agreed to the allied shinobi forces," Temari said.

Yep. That's old news, darling.

I hate knowing what's going to happen.

"Lady Tsunade has awoken and has taken office again," Kankuro added.

I forgot that happened! For once I was able to have a moment of genuine shock.

"Really?! She's awake?" I asked, leaning forward in shock, Gaara was also shocked purely because he was with me all last night, so this news is new for now, "that's good news."

Well isn't that just dandy. Lady Tsunade is back she isn't going to go down easily again.

"Fantastic," I nodded before relaxing again, finishing my apple and then throwing it into the bin expertly. Playing baseball with my old classmates really has helped my aiming and throwing skills—old classmates? I frowned at that thought but before I could even ponder on it any more the door was thrown open.

"Lord Kazekage! A message from Lord Raikage!" Baki came flying into the house. I swear he never knocks.

"I see," Gaara finally spoke after reading, "Temari, y/n, we're going out to the hidden cloud. There's a meeting in three days regarding the allied shinobi forces and the Intel we have on the Akatsuki."

"Why not Kankuro too?" I asked. Gaara gave me a small smile.

"Temari is my guard and you've been specially requested to come by Killer B," he told me, "apparently he's dying to meet you."

"I see," I nodded, "we must leave now then, it'll take a while to get there even if we run."

Sounds like a fun meeting is in my future.

"Yes, you're right, y/n. Kankuro hold the fort down," Temari agreed before the three of us got up and got ready before leaving the village again.

Such a shame, I was hoping to practice my martial arts—I mean taijutsu a little bit today.

Actually, allow me to rephrase that, I wanted to beat Kankuro's terrible at taijutsu ass around the village.

Because I'm a nice person. Clearly.
