New York is really busy but it's not that big and it's really easy to navigate. my classes are going well I suppose its mostly just note taking and listening to lectors, ambers classes are quite far away from mine so I end up walking home down the crowded streets with my earbuds in. I don't have much of my own music on my phone, it was mostly just the stuff Cyrus liked to listen to. so I have this one playlist of random songs that don't upset me and I just listen to those.

"Hey its TJ right," this boy approaches me he got messy brown hair tied up in a bun and about six books falling out of his hands I think I've seen him in one of my class but I don't quite remember.

"Yeah, you are," I ask pasueing my music and pulling out an earbud as we start to walk side by side.

"Conner, Im in chem 101 with you, I sit behind you, but Im good with names so I picked it up quick," he stumbles through his words almost throwing two of his books,

"do you need some help," I asked bending down to pick up the textbook that was now open on the ground.

"that would be nice, so how old are you," Conner asked as I held the two books, from his lanyard I assumed that he lived on campus so I could just help him get home.

"17 you," I grin, Im younger than most people around here, not that I've made many friends start with.

"18 in four months, I skipped two grades when I was younger so im in my second year, surprise surprise I failed chem last year" he laughed his laugh was so real, and he looked so carefree.

"no so good with Chemistry then," I asked,

"nope, my parents wanted me to be an engineer, and they said they would pay for my way through If I became one, I wanted to be a vet but yeah" he rolled his eyes,

"why not just become a vet then," I ask, conner is just a bit taller then I am, hes got hard features and he looks like someone that I've seen before but can't quite place.

"I was never good at saving money or keeping jobs, something to do with rich kid syndrome, even though that's more up my brothers ally, I just speak my mind more then I should," he shrugs and I understand he can't really afford to pay his way through school so he relies on his parents and their money.

"I wanted to be a teacher when I was really young but I got really good with making things and that so I got into this school on an engineering scholarship, really I enjoy the craft, I just always thought I would be more in a teaching role," I explain, hes comforting to talk to it feels like I've known him forever not five minutes,

"you could still become a teacher, just after you finish doing this degree and you earn a bit of money." he laughs but its a good point I can always go back to school try something new.

"hard to do that for being a vet," I nod and he laughs again as we stop in front of the dorm house

"yeah, I have to for my parents, they already have two disappointment children, or so they call them, my sister is a principal with two wonderful children and my brother is a director for big movies in Hollywood and hes getting married next week," he shakes his head

"all of my siblings are about ten years younger then I am so Im not compared to anything," I shrug I guess out of everything that's something that helps.

"must be nice," he sighs then looks up at the building, "this is my dorm where do you live around,"

"upper Manhatten, I live with my friend Amber and its cheaper for us to live up there," I explain pulling out my subway pass, it was a twenty-minute ride to get up to our joint apartment,

"Amber?" I can tell he knows of her, she has quite the reputation

"yeah do you know her," I ask even though Im pretty sure I know the answer it would be dumb to think that he didn't since he picked up on the name so quickly.

"I've seen her around shes a bit of a player" He turned away

"Im not into her like that actually I tend to date guys, she calls be disaster bi because I fled my old home town after I got out of a relationship, even though she's the one who brought me here," I explained, amber had taken to calling me that and I had taken to telling her I would have just stayed in Shadyside moping if she hadn't dragged me to New York

"Oh, same kinda my roommate dated her for a while hes a douche but you seem to kind to be the type she dates." he laughs I can't help but laugh to since Im not ambers type even though we have a past.

"Yeah, Im most definitely not the type she sticks to," I manage out,

"so your single, and willing to date guys," conner smiled

"I just got out of a relationship that lasted three years," I warned him to be fair I wasn't sure I would be ready to date someone after Cyrus and definitely not right now.

"that Alright Ill wait, here text me whenever," he grinned handing me a slip of paper with his phone number written across it I quickly put it into my phone and text him 'whenever'

he turns quickly after the message and gives me a glare then burst out laughing,

"your cute TJ," he laughed then pushed open the door to the dorm rooms as I started to wander down the street for the first time in a couple of weeks I felt butterflies in my stomach and I could help but grin
