Buffy - Chapter Thirty-Six

New York was rather small compared to what I had expected and so much less intimating once you found your way to navigate it. Joshie and Conner had shown up to see TJ but since he and Cyrus hadn't come down yet they said they would show me around a little. especially since amber said we weren't allowed up there until she got word from TJ 

we went to a small cafe only ten minutes away from where the apartment was, which made me question way Amber didn't just go there. I didn't ask I just walked behind the two boys who seemed to be talking on about some party last night. 

I liked just listening to the two of them talk they had these weird mannerisms and names for people like they called amber ember, TJ was Te, Jay, Tom, and Jame why they had four different nicknames I don't really know, I also didn't know that TJs full name was Thomas James. he had kept that pretty privet when we were in school togeather. 

"I told you that he was gonna try it, you know mark hes got to go after what he can't get," Conner rolled his eyes as he accepted his third coffee from the barista who just seemed to keep racking it on a tab or something of the sort. 

"Mark always goes after the newbie hes been like that since i got here," Joshie shook his head, and rolling his eyes at the coffee, "if you drink enough of this your gonna have a heart attack," 

"I havent yet so," Conner shrugged his shoulders bring the cup up to his lips, in a way i could see TJ and Cyrus in them, from what I had seen of the couple, 

"that doesnt stop it from happing dummy," Joshie shook his head hitting his forhead and rolling his eyes at Conner who slurped the coffee 

"But it hasnt happend yet so," conner danced a little in his chair as he slurped the coffee it was clearly to annoy Joshie, he just rolled his eyes but gave the barisa a look that said, she couldnt bring him another cup or he would toss it right back at her. 

"anyways, did you do any of your classwork," Joshie asks looking down at an alert on his phone, some reminder for an assiment 

"not at all did you do all of it," Conner grinned, like he knew what was gonna happened in this sutiation, I think I knew to 

Joshie had done the work and Conner hadn't Joshie was gonna give Conner the work or do it for him. was this how there relationship had come to be, one needing the other for classes. 

"yeah I did, Ill help you but only because if you fail your parents will show up and I do not like them" Joshie rolled his eyes as he took the cup from infront of Conner, 

"No one likes them, and they dont like anyone," Conner tryed to take the cup back "give me my coffee," 

"No, its mine now," Joshie bit back 

"Nacy could you get me another coffee," Conner turned over to the barista 

"sorry conner, Joshie might kill me," she shook her head busing her self with cleaning the tables to get away from the two. 

"Buffy would you be a gem," Conner turned to me he had a really nice smile, was this how he got all the people he talked about a sweet smile. 

"I don't think you need a fourth cup of coffee," I shook my head and he turned back to Joshie pushing out his lower lip and I swear to everything, he was pouting like a five-year-old.  

"you've turned people who don't even know me against me in your pursuit to make me healthier" Conner grabbed the now empty cup, Joshie had a sour look on his face I was guessing he didn't like coffee at all, 

"I have that power so watch out Conner, I can do so much" he grinned "now do you believe I can get you off a coffee addiction," I believe that was the bet they were talking about earlier, 

if joshie could get Conner off of his coffee addiction then he would win if he couldnt then conner would win. 

"Oh I believe you but your gonna have to try harder than just stealing my coffee, Sweety," Conner gave a dangours grin as he pulled a starbucks cold cappicon thing out of his bag and downed it in one go, 

"dont you think I would guess you came down to these sort of games, Connor oh sweet conner, Im having your roommate throw out everything with caffien in it as we speak" Joshie laughed, as my mind started to wander 

if cyrus got back togeather with TJ how would he fit into this arrangement, how did TJ, was he on Conner or Joshies side? maybe he was on his own side, had his own stakes in the bet weather he could get Conner off of his dangours coffee addiction. maybe he just laughs at them when they get like this. 

"Buffy, Hey" Joshie waved his hand in Buffy's face, "ember texted us, we can start walking back now," Conner was up paying for his coffees, as Joshie was collecting his stuff and looking through Conners bag. 

"alright lets head back," Conner pulled on his jacket as they headed for the doors, and back onto the new york streets, 

the noise was somewhat of a comfort as we head down the streets, Joshie was skipping and conner was telling some story of some guy he knew for a moment in time, as he liked to say. 

"I like just knowing someone for a moment, you know, only a second in the grand scheme of things you dont get to know them long, but I thing in the first five minuets of knowing someone do you know them more then you ever will for the rest of your time with them," 

I suppose he had some truth in that.
