CHAPTER THIRTY

CASSANDRA'S POV

I didn't know it'll end this fast. I thought I still have time to be with him kahit saglit lang. Bakit ba kasi hindi nalang mamayang pagkatapos ng party siya nagtapat. Bakit kung kaylan nagsisimula palang.

Pumunta ako sa may greenhouse. This is where my feet brought me. It was dark. Only the lamp posts are the source of light. And there, I started to release my tears.

I wanted to scream. Mas okay pa ata yung dati, yung wala akong pakielam sa mundo. Hindi ako nakakaramdam ng sakit. Maayos ang lahat.

It's my birthday promise to appreciate things and give importance to everything. Pero bakit ganon? When I opened myself, nagkagulo na. Nakakulong ang tatay ko sa mga kamay ni Magenta. There are death threats. Andrea and Francis broke up and now, I have to let go of my first love, Daniel. Ano pa bang pwedeng mangyari?

I opened the box again, and pulled out the ring. Isinuot ko iyon. It perfectly fits. I sobbed again and sat down on the grass hugging my knees.

"Hey bitch, why are you here?" I looked up and saw Jessie and Andrea standing in front of me.

"Cry baby. Eew." Andrea teased

I stood up and hugged them. Thank God I'm wearing a waterproof makeup.

"I don't know what's going on. But Cassy, don't run. Face everything. We're here. We're here for you." Jessie started to sob and Andrea is already crying

"Yeah. We're sisters right?" - Andrea

I hugged them tight. After the sobbing and crying, we wiped our tears and smiled at each other.

"I want to go somewhere. Tuners?" Andrea asked at nagtanguan naman kami.

"Uhh, I have to check Henry first. Papaalam muna ako. Please?"

"Whatever. Wait ka nalang namin dito." sabi ni Andrea and nakacrossarms pa

"Don't run. Face everything." I quoted what Jessie told earlier. She rolled her eyes at sumama na din.

Again, we're inside the hall. Hindi ko napansin na napakaganda pala ng pagkaaayos dito. Pinaggastusan talaga ang celebration ng foundation day. From the curtains, the red carpet and the foods served. And the stage, where the founder sits, he's amazingly beautiful. Beside him is his only son, looking at me coldly. Umiwas ako ng tingin.

Nagpaalam si Jessie saamin at nagpunta kay Francis. May dumaang waiter and I grabbed two glasses of champagne.

"Wait here." I told the waiter. I gulped the first glass and put it back to the tray. I'm so tensed. Kumuha din si Andrea at umalis na yung waiter.

"Everything's gonna be fine. If it's meant to be, it will be." saad ni Andrea habang hinahagod ang likod ko trying to calm me down.

"I know you're also telling that to yourself." I said.

"Yeah." she shyly answered. I know how much he love that bastard.

"Goodevening to all of you." panimula ng nagsasalita sa stage. "It's been 25 years since the school was built. I'm very proud of my father, na sa mahigit 20 years ay napalago at napanatili ang magandang reputasyon ng paaralan." saad ni Daniel. He continued to give his father compliments.

At the end of the speech, he proposed a toast and everyone clinked their glasses.He's smart and so professional. Just like his father. Nagtaka ang lahat nung hindi padin umaalis si Daniel sa gitna.

"I would also like to congratulate someone," then his eyes met mine "You know who you are." he continued. I stilled. I held my breath. Remebering our conversation earlier.
